Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, which opens in cinemas in the UK and Ireland this Friday, was shown in select screenings last week: one at the Brighton Festival, of which she is guest director, and two in London, including one for a very special audience of dogs (and their human companions). The Guardian was at that last event and has published a video taking a look behind the scenes. You can watch it here.

Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, opens in cinemas across the UK and Ireland starting this Friday, May 20. She gave an early look at the film in select screenings last week, including one at the Brighton Festival, of which she is guest director, and two in London: one with a Q&A hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music's Lauren Laverne, another for a very special audience of dogs (and their human companions) introduced by Anderson. The Guardian was at that last event, at Picturehouse Central, and has published a video taking a look behind the scenes and talking with Laurie Anderson to discover what made it a success. You can watch it below.

The Brighton Festival continues with two more events from Anderson: Song Conversation, a freewheeling walk through sonic spaces with fellow musician-composers, pianist Nik Bärtsch and guitarist Eivind Aarset, at Brighton Dome Concert Hall tonight, and an exclusive new performance monologue about place and places called Slideshow at Brighton Dome Corn Exchange on Wednesday. She returns to the US to perform at Moogfest this weekend. For details, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
