Wilco's European tour comes to a close this week with two shows in the Netherlands. Tonight's concert at the Paradiso in Amsterdam will be webcast live on the band's site. There are already more live performances planned for next year, including a gala benefit honoring Neil Young as MusiCares Person of the Year during Grammy week, a Canadian tour, and, now, the End of the Road Festival in England, which the band will headline next September.
Wilco's European tour comes to a close this week with two performances in the Netherlands: tonight at the Paradiso in Amsterdam and tomorrow night at De Effenar in Eindhoven. (This weekend's scheduled performance with Grizzly Bear in Milan hit a snag when Grizzly Bear's tour bus was hit. Everyone is safe, but it meant the Brooklyn band wasn't able to join Wilco for the show.) While tonight's Amsterdam show is sold out, Wilco will be webcasting it live via the band's website at wilcoworld.net/roadcase, beginning at 8:45 PM in Amsterdam, 2:45 PM EST and 11:45 AM PST in the United States.
There are already more live performances planned for next year, including a trans-Canadian tour that starts in February, preceded by a celebration of one of Canada's favorite sons, Neil Young, named the MusiCares Person of the Year, in a gala benefit concert at the Los Angeles Convention Center during Grammy week. Also scheduled to perform at the event are fellow Canadian k.d. lang and Emmylou Harris.
And this just in: the End of the Road Festival, out of Dorset, England, has announced that Wilco will be headlining the 2010 running of the festival. Also featured at the event, which takes place September 10-12, 2010, in Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset, will be The Low Anthem. You can find out more information on other confirmed artists for the festival and order your tickets now at endoftheroadfestival.com.
