The film is slated for US release on June 12.
After the film's world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last summer, the Toronto Star's John Goddard described it as "a stirring documentary" that "pulses with life and energy." The songs of Egypt, the album featured in the film, "with backing singers, rich orchestrations, N'Dour's soaring vocals and his natural inclination to reach out across cultures and traditions," says Goddard, "carry a deeply spiritual message of openness and beauty."
"In these troubling and uncertain times," says Vasarhelyi, the film's director, "I Bring What I Love tells a simple, uplifting story of faith, and the pursuit of one's dreams, all to the mesmerizing African rhythms, song, and dance that have made Youssou the most influential African singer today."
