Nonesuch Records releases Brad Mehldau's 10 Years Solo Live eight-LP vinyl box set October 16, 2015. The set is culled from live recordings made over a decade of the pianist's European solo concerts and is divided into four thematic subsets of four sides each: Dark/Light, The Concert, Intermezzo/Rückblick, and E Minor/E Major. It will be released digitally and on CD the following month. "It is not enough to say that the different audiences were important for the creation of this music. They were absolutely necessary; they were pivotal. Without those audiences, this music would not exist in the way it does." Vinyl pre-orders are available now in the Nonesuch Store with an instant download of the album track "Waltz for J. B.," which you can hear here.

Lianne La Havas's new album, Blood, is WFUV's New Dig. "Blood stretches La Havas’s scope as a songwriter, singer and guitarist, embracing neo-soul and jazz, while peppering the proceedings with dashes of R&B, reggae, and doo wop," says WFUV. "Her voice is wonderfully powerful and full; it rings clearly and soars majestically over her sunshine-dappled melodies." Blood was The Current's Album of the Week: "Blood showcases La Havas as a powerhouse vocalist, her voice lilting and floating like a butterfly over the music in one instant and slamming down with force and a gritty roughness the next moment ... It's an album you'll want to learn the lyrics of so you can sing along to it—loudly."

Lianne La Havas spoke with NPR's All Things Considered about her new album, Blood. "At 25, British singer Lianne La Havas has established herself as a musical triple threat: she's a guitarist, songwriter, and a soulful vocalist," says host Audie Cornish. "La Havas draws on her heritage for inspiration: Her father is Greek, her mother Jamaican, and it was a trip to Jamaica after her first tour that got her thinking about music in a new way." The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Laurie Anderson as the artist behind the design for the 53rd New York Film Festival poster. She joins a lineup of artists to have commissioned their work for the festival that includes Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Julian Schnabel, Cindy Sherman, and, Laurie Simmons. "The NYFF is such an eclectic and ecstatically wild mix of films, and I wanted to try to capture some of the variety of subjects and styles," says Laurie Anderson. "I made this painting two years ago when I was feeling especially inspired by the scale of projected film and the possibilities of abrupt jump cuts. I’m so happy it’s the poster for this year’s festival."
