The Black Keys' Ohio Players (Trophy Edition), an expanded version of their latest album, which received two Grammy nominations last week, is out now. The new release features a two-LP set in a gatefold jacket complete with four new tracks, an alternate cover, and new album sequencing. The new tracks include collaborations with DannyLux, Alice Cooper, and Beck. The fourth new song, “Sin City,” co-written by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney with Greg Kurstin and Beck, who also perform on the track, debuts today.

Olivia Chaney gave a special performance of Nick Drake's "River Man" at last week's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, on his induction into the Folk Awards Hall of Fame. You can watch the performance here. Chaney tours the UK and Europe with Alela Diane starting Thursday at Union Chapel in London.

The winners will be announced in the June issue of the magazine, on sale May 11. Songlines gave Freedom Highway four stars when it was released, calling the title track "the closing triumph to a wonderful set," and featured Giddens on the cover of the magazine later in the year.

The band also announced more North American stops on their international tour of now more than fifty additional performances, included newly added shows in Cleveland, Portland, Atlanta, Austin, Memphis, Chicago, and more. Journal Topics: Artist News, VideoFriday, March 30, 2018Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) and Nico Muhly release a new album, Peter Pears: Balinese Ceremonial Music, May 18 on Nonesuch. It's nine songs written by the duo plus three gamelan transcriptions by ethnomusicologist Colin McPhee that inspired the songs. Peter Pears is available to preorder with instant downloads of the tracks "Dominic," "Gambangan," and "Festina," videos for which can be seen here. Bartlett and Muhly perform the music in NYC, Dublin, and London this spring.

Pulse is performed by International Contemporary Ensemble, and Quartet by Colin Currie Group. The Los Angeles Times notes the "lyricism, gorgeous instrumental textures and affecting harmonies" of Pulse, and the New York Times says: "Written for two vibraphones and two pianos, Quartet is Mr. Reich's first piece for those two instruments alone, and the combination is ingenious and seductive, and deployed with subtle craftsmanship."
