¡Spangled!—a collaboration between Guatemalan-born singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno and American musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer Van Dyke Parks—is out now. The ten-song set spans more than a century, including a bolero from Panama, a bossa nova from Brazil, a song by Moreno, Trinidadian songwriter David Rudder's "The Immigrants," and an elegiac ballad from the Southwest US: Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, and Jim Dickinson’s “Across the Borderline,” performed with Cooder and Jackson Browne.

Gaby Moreno and Van Dyke Parks were on NPR's Alt.Latino to discuss and share tracks from their new album, ¡Spangled!. Gaby Moreno, whose new album with Van Dyke Parks, ¡Spangled!, is out next week, begins a six-week tour of Europe on Tuesday, with concerts throughout Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, and Spain. Moreno then returns to the US for a three-week Roots Rising! tour of the West with Liz Vice and Matt Andersen, followed by a concert in New York City and a performance as special guest of Ben Folds and the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. Gaby Moreno will begin a six-week, twenty-one concert tour of Europe in Neumunster, Germany, September 24. The tour takes her across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, and Spain, culminating in Malaga November 1, and surrounds the October 4 release of her new album, ¡Spangled!, with Van Dyke Parks. She begins a US tour November 8, including a just-announced show at Merkin Hall in NYC for Ecstatic Music December 2.

Gaby Moreno was on WNYC's All of It on Friday to perform a few songs, including "Across the Borderline" from her upcoming album, ¡Spangled!, and talk with host Alison Stewart; you can hear it here. Later that night, she led a multi-artist concert for Celebrate Brooklyn!, welcoming several guest artists including Jackson Browne, with whom she sang "Across the Borderline," and Oscar Isaac. They closed the show with a fitting finale of "Fare Thee Well." "Bidding the crowd farewell, their three voices rose beautifully into the Brooklyn night," says Billboard.

Gaby Moreno begins a six-city tour of Australia with two performances at The Fyrefly in St Kilda, Victoria, on Thursday and Friday. The tour continues with three sets at the Port Fairy Folk Festival in Victoria and concerts in Adelaide, Sydney, Gold Coast, and Brisbane.

Gaby Moreno once again sat in with the band on public radio's Live From Here with Chris Thile from Chicago this past weekend, joining Thile and guest Jason Isbell on vocals for a number of songs. She also performed a new song called "Nobody's Wrong," which you can watch here.

Gaby Moreno was on a special Christmas edition of Live From Here with Chris Thile live from The Town Hall in NYC on December 22. She sang the Spanish-language Christmas song "Peces en el Rio," Donny Hathaway and Nadine McKinnor's "This Christmas," and the traditional tune "All Through the Night," all of which you can watch here, along with an unforgettable performance of Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts theme "Linus and Lucy" by Thile and the band (featuring a must-see dance interlude).

Gaby Moreno and Dannielle DeAndrea came together to record Bill Monroe's "The One I Love Is Gone" for the Hootenanny One Mic Series in Los Angeles. The performance—which follows Moreno's recent Spanish-language take on Paul Simon's "American Tune" with Davíd Garza for the series—was captured in a new video you can watch here.

Lincoln Center has announced its 2019 American Songbook lineup, and among the performers taking the stage at The Appel Room in New York City for the series early next year are Rostam, Gaby Moreno, Lake Street Dive's Rachael Price, and others. Tickets for the series go on sale to members starting November 7 and to the public on November 15. 

Gaby Moreno and Davíd Garza came together to record a timely-as-ever bilingual take on Paul Simon's "American Tune" for the Hootenanny One Mic Series in Los Angeles. The performance, featuring Moreno's Spanish translation of the lyrics, was filmed for the series' inaugural video, which you can watch here. Moreno and Van Dyke Parks released a recording of David Rudder's song "The Immigrants" in July to support CARECEN and its efforts to empower immigrants.
