The Low Anthem performs live on KUT in Austin, Texas, today at 2 PM CT, prior to tonight's concert in Austin. The band "frequently dazzles on both recordings and in live performance," says KUT. Their recent performances at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for WXPN and on Mountain Stage are both available at npr.org. The Low Anthem's Hear Ya Live Session is also up now and includes the song "Boeing 737," which Hear Ya calls "triumphant, almost prophetic." Watch it here.

The Low Anthem and Iron and Wine will release their Daytrotter Sessions as a limited-edition, split 12" vinyl on May 17. The LP, limited to 1,000 copies, is being sold exclusively through "mom and pop" record stores, with a few copies available through the Daytrotter website and the bands' websites. This will be the first-ever vinyl release to feature a full Daytrotter Session. The two bands are on tour together now. The Low Anthem's side of the LP features a live performance of six songs from their album Smart Flesh, which Daytrotter proclaimed is "without question a contender for album of the year."

The Low Anthem began their US spring tour last night with the first of several sold-out shows with Iron and Wine. This weekend, The Low Anthem can also be heard on NPR stations across the country as their recent performance on Mountain Stage premieres; Lucinda Williams is also on the show. The band closed out its European tour at a sold-out show at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, to which the Guardian and the Independent both gave four stars. The official music video for The Low Anthem's "Boeing 737," off the band's new album, Smart Flesh, has premiered on SPIN. In the video, the band goes "1800s retro," says SPIN's Dan Jackson, "as members of an oddball circus, who battle a group of high-wire walkers. It's totally weird yet totally poignant." The new video was directed by End of the Road Pictures, which created the beautiful animated video for The Low Anthem's "Charlie Darwin." Tickets are now on sale for the band's spring and summer tour.

The Low Anthem has contributed the latest addition to the A.V. Club's Undercover series: their take on the classic Wilco tune "A Shot in the Arm." Says the A.V. Club: "Though there are plenty of heirs apparent to Wilco's crossover-Americana charm, TLA seem like particularly strong candidates based on an already-impressive discography." The Low Anthem recently performed several songs off their new album, Smart Flesh, at NPR member station WFUV; watch the videos here.

After wrapping up its current European run with sold-out shows across the continent, The Low Anthem will return to the United States for spring and summer dates in support of their latest Nonesuch release, Smart Flesh, including headline shows and dates with Iron & Wine and Mumford & Sons. The Low Anthem is featured on the bonus track of label mate Emmylou Harris' forthcoming album Hard Bargain; her collaboration with the band on their song “To Ohio” will be available digitally via iTunes and Amazon.

Before they left for their current European tour, The Low Anthem visited NPR member station WFUV in New York to discuss their latest release, Smart Flesh, and perform a number of songs off the album. The Low Anthem's music "is at times a rowdy stomp, at others a breathless, hymn-like hush," says Marshall, "always compelling, inventive and fresh. Welcome to folk music 3.0."

Today is Opening Day for Major League Baseball, and, as with fans everywhere and in all walks of life, team loyalties run deep among Nonesuch artists (and staff members). Chris Thile wishes his Twitter followers a "Happy Opening Day!" The Low Anthem's Jeff Prystowsky offers predictions as one of the "heavy-hitting bassists who happen to be big baseball fans" featured in ESPN's 2011 "bass-ball" preview. Randy Newman tells Paste: "I love baseball ... I think that baseball fields are about the most beautiful things in the world.”

The Low Anthem is currently on tour in Europe and returns to the US in mid-April to head straight out on the road again, first with Iron and Wine, then heading to New Orleans Jazz Fest and launching its own headlining tour. The band performs at LouFest in St. Louis at the end of August, as will The Roots, Cat Power, TV on the Radio, and others. The Low Anthem will be featured on public radio's Mountain Stage on April 15 and can be heard singing their song "To Ohio" with Emmylou Harris on digital versions of Harris's forthcoming album, Hard Bargain, on amazon.com and iTunes.

The Low Anthem, currently on tour in Europe, brought its winter US tour to a close earlier this month with an unforgettable gathering at the Rhode Island pasta sauce factory where the band recorded its new album, Smart Flesh. The Low Anthem brings its US winter tour to a close this week before heading to Europe, with shows in Portland, New York, and in the abandoned pasta sauce factory where they recorded their new album, Smart Flesh. The Boston Globe says The Low Anthem hit "a high note" in its Friday show at the Old South Church, "a galvanizing 90-minute performance that was masterful and even magical at times."

As The Low Anthem takes their tour to Canada for shows in Toronto and Montreal, the band's Daytrotter session has been published, with live takes on five songs from their album Smart Flesh. "Without question, Smart Flesh will be a contender for album of the year when it comes to that," says Daytrotter. The band heads next to Boston, where the Boston Globe calls the album "splendid" with "hints of forebears from Bob Dylan to Vic Chesnutt to the Band."
