Shye Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express—while in New York City to perform music from their album Junun with Jonny Greenwood on tour opening for Radiohead—stopped by the WNYC studios as guests on New Sounds' Soundcheck. Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, who are now touring North America with music from their album Junun as special guests of Radiohead, performed the album's title track on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express begin a month-long North American tour performing music from their album Junun as special guests of Radiohead with two nights of sold-out shows at the United Center in Chicago tonight and Saturday. The tour continues with four sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in NYC; two nights each in Montreal and Toronto; shows in Detroit, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh; and two nights each in Boston and Philadelphia.

Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, who begin a North American tour of music from their album Junun as guests of Radiohead next week, will take part in a screening of Paul Thomas Anderson's 2015 film Junun documenting the recording of the album. They will be at a screening and Q&A at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn on July 9, simulcast at Alamo Drafthouse theaters across the US. While Junun is on tour, the film can also be seen at theaters in Houston, Chicago, Columbus, and Boston.

Shye Ben-Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, currently touring Latin America as special guests of Radiohead, performing songs from their album Junun, will join Radiohead on its North American tour this summer. Shye Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express will perform music from their 2015 album, Junun, which the Times of London called "one of the most inspired releases of the year ," on tour across Europe, starting with two nights in Italy: at the Locus Festival in Bari tonight, and Ravenna Festival on Friday. Jonny Greenwood will join the group for both shows. Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express will open for Radiohead in select cities in addition to their own tour stops.

Shye Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express will perform music from their album Junun as the opening act for Radiohead in select cities on the band's sold-out European tour: at the Spektrum in Oslo on June 6 and 7, Ericsson Globe in Stockholm on June 9, 3 Arena in Dublin on June 20, and Manchester Arena on July 4 and 5. Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express will also perform at the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona on June 3 and Best Kept Secret in the Netherlands on June 18. The Times of London calls Junun "intriguing, sinuous, and essential listening."

Composer/musician Shye Ben Tzur, guitarist Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, who came together in Jodhpur, India, last year to record the album Junun, reunite to perform the album on tour in the UK and Europe. The concerts begin with a performance at The Troxy in London on Friday, as part of the Illuminations festival, which also includes a free, weeklong exhibit of artwork and films from the recording of album at the Omeara Gallery in London starting today. The European tour continues with concerts in Turin, Lausanne, Milan, Rome, and Berlin, before concluding at Le Guess Who? Festival in the Netherlands.

The initial music line-up for the 2017 Big Ears Festival has been announced, and among the artists are Stephin Merritt and the Magnetic Fields, performing the forthcoming Nonesuch Records album 50 Song Memoir, and Shye Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express, performing music of their 2015 Nonesuch album, Junun. The Big Ears Festival will return to Knoxville, Tennessee, expanding to four days, March 23–26, 2017. Among the other performers are Wilco, Glenn Kotche, Punch Brothers' Chris Eldridge, and composer/pianist Frederic Rzewski. Weekend passes are on sale now.

Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, who came together in Jodhpur, India, last year to record the album Junun, will reunite to perform the album in its entirety in the UK for the first time, at Barbican Hall in London on March 11, 2016. Tickets go on sale to Barbican members on Thursday, January 14, and to the general public on Friday, January 15.

Israeli composer/musician Shye Ben Tzur was a guest on BBC World Service Weekend. He discusses working on the new album Junun with Jonny Greenwood and the Rajasthan Express. The album was recorded in a makeshift studio inside the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, India, and comprises Ben Tzur’s compositions, which feature devotional Sufi qawwal musicians who sing in Urdu as well as in his native Hebrew. Junun, the new album from Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express, was released on Friday to critical acclaim. Also on Friday came the release on iTunes of Paul Thomas Anderson's film of the same name, which documents the recording of the album. Now comes an outtake from the film featuring the group's performance of the album track "Hu." The Observer, which gives the album four stars, says "the hypnotic 'Hu' locks into an almighty groove."
