Composer/musician Shye Ben Tzur, guitarist Jonny Greenwood, and a group of Indian musicians known as the Rajasthan Express, who came together in Jodhpur, India, last year to record the album Junun, will reunite to perform the album in its entirety in the UK for the first time, at Barbican Hall in London on March 11, 2016.

Junun was recorded in a makeshift studio inside the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort in the Indian state of Rajasthan in early 2015. The album, released late last year on Nonesuch Records to critical acclaim, was made with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, and the recording sessions were documented by filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson—a friend and frequent collaborator of Greenwood—for a film of the same name.

The Times of London calls the album "one of the most inspired releases of the year ... Intriguing, sinuous, and essential listening."

Tickets for the concert, produced by the Barbican in association with Convergence, go on sale to Barbican members on Thursday, January 14, and to the general public on Friday, January 15. For details and tickets, visit barbican.org.uk.

To pick up a copy of the album, head to iTunes, Amazon, or the Nonesuch Store, where CD and vinyl orders include a download of the complete album at checkout.

It features improvisational vocalist Kokayi, pianist Sam Harris, Chiquitamagic on synthesizer, drummer Justin Brown, and the Mivos Quartet. “For arguably the most technically gifted trumpeter of his generation, a lot of Ambrose Akinmusire’s breakthroughs actually come from letting go of standards and structures," says the New York Times. "Lately Akinmusire has been making some of the most intimate, spellbinding music of his career.”
