Nonesuch Records and PS Classics will record the cast album of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music on January 4, 2010. The production, which opens on December 13, 2009, at the Walter Kerr Theatre, stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angela Lansbury, and Alexander Hanson. Directed by Trevor Nunn, it is the first revival of the show since its 1973 debut. Tommy Krasker will produce the album.

The A.V. Club gives the album an A, saying it "defeats all odds by sounding both organic and cohesive." The Houston Chronicle gives it four stars, calling it "a sinewy masterpiece."

Following the album’s January 26 Nonesuch release, Metheny will embark on an extensive solo tour. A limited-edition, signed 9"x12" print of the cover image is available now with CD or LP pre-orders, exclusively in the Nonesuch Store, to the first 500 customers.

The album features all-new recordings of music from throughout N’Dour’s career as well as two new songs, including the documentary’s title theme, and richly represents the music and the message of N’Dour the artist and the humanitarian.

Recorded in London in 2005, Ali and Toumani is the successor to the duo's Grammy-winning In the Heart of the Moon and is the last album recorded by Touré. The Washington Post describes the Keys' contribution as "a mix of gritty, jazzy and psychedelic beats that ... often resemble those of Wu-Tang Clan." The Wall Street Journal says unlike some earlier efforts to bring rock and hip-hop together, the Keys offer "the credibility needed to attempt such alchemy." The Village Voice says that here, "they actually improve one another." The Observer gives the album four stars.

"Blak Friday"), November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, featuring music by The Black Keys with a star-studded line up of MCs including Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA, Raekwon, Pharoahe Monch, Jim Jones, NOE, Nicole Wray, and Billy Danze. The Seattle Times calls it the "most interesting hip-hop approach" of the year.

The follow-up to 2008’s Distortion finds Stephin Merritt drawing inspiration from late 1960s / early 70s orchestral and psychedelic folk for an all-acoustic set. A Nonesuch Store exclusive, now available for pre-order, includes the album on vinyl or CD plus a limited-edition, silk-screened poster signed by Merritt. The band will tour the US in support of the album beginning February 4.

Produced by Joe Henry, Genuine Negro Jig features string band interpretations of Blu Cantrell’s “Hit ‘Em Up Style” and Tom Waits’ “Trampled Rose,” as well as a pair of original compositions, alongside a number of traditional tracks. NPR calls the band “the hottest thing to hit the old-time music community in decades.”

Upon its original release, The Independent's Andy Gill compared it favorably to the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street. Today, Gill praises Wilco's recent London show, which closed with a special take of a song off Being There, "a magical, moving conclusion to one of the best gigs of the year, by one of the best bands in the world."

Following the album's European release on World Circuit earlier this year, The Guardian proclaimed, “There is no question that Tony Allen is a genius, one of the greatest percussionists in the history of popular music,” while Observer Music Monthly said, “If you’re wondering why Afrobeat is hip, start here.”
