"The American Utopia tour may just be the best live show of all time." That's what NME said of David Byrne's American Utopia tour. And as the ten-month, 144-date tour wraps up comes a new EP entitled "…The Best Live Show of All Time"—NME featuring six songs recorded live on tour at Brooklyn's Kings Theatre. The EP is available on CD and in specially priced bundles with the album on CD or LP exclusively from the Nonesuch Store. The new American Utopia (Deluxe Edition)—the complete album plus the six live songs from the EP—is also available now via all streaming and download services.

Lake Street Dive's new limited-edition 10" vinyl EP, Freak Yourself Out, first released for Record Store Day: Black Friday last month, is now available in the Nonesuch Store, while supplies last. Freak Yourself Out features five songs recorded during the sessions for the band's chart-topping album Free Yourself Up that had not been finished. The band had so much fun playing the songs on tour this year, they went back into the studio and finished them for this special release. 

Conor Oberst released his Nonesuch Records debut album, Upside Down Mountain, in May 2014. Earlier that spring, he had previewed what was to come with the release of a limited-edition vinyl 7" for Record Store Day, featuring the album track "Hundreds of Ways" b/w the album outtake "Fast Friends." Later that year, for Record Store Day: Black Friday, came another limited-edition vinyl 7" with two non-album tracks recorded during the Upside Down Mountain sessions: "Standing on the Outside Looking In" b/w "Sugar Street." All of those tracks are finally available digitally and can be heard here.

The English trio The Staves offer their contribution to the holiday-song canon with the just-released new song, "Home Alone, Too," in which the festive-jumper-festooned sisters dare to ask: "Are you watching Home Alone, too?" In conjunction with The Criterion Collection’s special-edition DVD and Blu-ray release of David Byrne’s 1986 film True Stories, Nonesuch and Todomundo Records release a comprehensive soundtrack, collected for the first time in one package and in film sequence: True Stories, A Film by David Byrne: The Complete Soundtrack is now available on vinyl LP, CD, and digital formats. "I always imagined that the music written for True Stories should be heard as it is in the film," says Byrne. "It makes the most sense this way.”

Mambo Sinuendo, Ry Cooder’s 2003 Grammy Award–winning collaboration with Cuban guitar legend Manuel Galbán, has returned on vinyl for the first time in some fifteen years. "Mambo Sinuendo creates a time-warped neverland where unhurried melodies hover above subtly swaying Cuban rhythms," says the New York Times, "as the two guitar masters trade slides and twangs with a droll sense of romance."

Bill Frisell's classic album Nashville, first released on Nonesuch Records in 1997, is now available worldwide on vinyl for the first time. The vinyl edition, made in partnership with Run Out Groove, was mastered for vinyl by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound in a two-LP set pressed on 180g vinyl at Record Industry in the Netherlands. Limited to 3,000 copies worldwide, the set comes in a gatefold tip-on jacket made at Stoughton Printing with outtake photos from the sessions.

Fleet Foxes' special limited-edition collection marking the tenth anniversary of their debut album, First Collection 2006–2009, is out now. The package features content spanning the early days of Fleet Foxes' career, including the self-titled full-length debut album on 12" vinyl, as well as the Sun Giant EP on 10" vinyl and the first vinyl releases of both the very limited-edition, previously only self-released The Fleet Foxes EP on 10" and B-Sides & Rarities on 10". Nonesuch Records' 1989 recording of Steve Reich's Different Trains, the Grammy Award winner for Best Contemporary Composition, and Electric Counterpoint has returned on vinyl. The album features the first recordings of the two pieces, performed by Kronos Quartet and Pat Metheny, respectively. The vinyl edition is out today, the 30th anniversary of Kronos Quartet's world premiere performance of Different Trains at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. Pitchfork recently called Different Trains a "late-career masterpiece," including the album among the 200 Best Albums of the 1980s. Watch a new mini-documentary about it here.

Pianist Jeremy Denk's new album, c. 1300–c. 2000, is due February 8, 2019. The album spans seven centuries of music by twenty-four different composers, from Guillaume de Machaut to György Ligeti. "A piano recital covering 700 years of music: by most accepted definitions, that ought to be not just an oxymoron but an impossibility," says the Telegraph. Out today, Wilco (the album) (the picture disc) melds the 2009 album's acclaimed music with the whimsy of the original photography, on one vinyl disc. Wilco's seventh studio album "is all about a great band playing great original music on an album filled with great songs," says NPR. The Independent gave five stars to the "magnificent" album.
