Adding yet another hyphenated credit to his name, T Bone Burnett plays guest DJ on the latest episode of NPR's All Songs Considered. Host Bob Boilen introduces T Bone as "a musical wizard of sorts" for all his many diverse and successful musical forays, before the two discuss a range of topics, including Burnett's producing methods, a few things he learned from the late Roy Orbison, and the differences between analog and digital recording.

The Black Keys played a killer set last night at New York City's Terminal 5, leaving more than a few Nonesuch staffers a bit bleary-eyed but all the better for it this morning. While in New York yesterday, the band stopped by the studios at WNYC to talk with Soundcheck host John Schaefer about the making of the new record, Attack & Release, and working with producer Danger Mouse.

When faced with the conundrum of deciding between two shows by The Black Keys over consecutive nights at Washington, DC's 9:30 Club, DCist's Valerie Paschall looked to Dan Auerbach's promise in Monday's first-night set: "We'll play better tonight and we'll play more songs tomorrow night."

Laurie Anderson recently appeared on Progressive Radio, the weekly broadcast hosted by The Progressive magazine's editor Matthew Rothschild, to discuss her latest project, Homeland, and the many socio-political issues it addresses, most notably the war in Iraq and the challenges of forming a coherent opposition to it when faced with an administration so well-schooled in framing the issue, or as she sees it, story telling. In light of this, her response was to tell her own version of the story, through Homeland.

The Black Keys kick off the next leg of their Attack & Release tour tonight in Washington, DC, for the first of two sold-out shows at the 9:30 Club. Tomorrow night's set will be broadcast live on NPR's All Songs Considered. Pat and Dan head next to New York City for a performance Wednesday night on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien, followed by a sold-out show Thursday night at Terminal 5.

Steve Reich spoke with BBC Radio 4's Today show, the network's flagship daily news and current affairs program, this morning about his latest Nonesuch release Daniel Variations and the composition of its title track, inspired by slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. T Bone Burnett is scheduled to appear on the show tomorrow morning to preview his forthcoming Nonesuch release, Tooth of Crime.

After spending a number of weeks traveling across Australia with her Watershed tour, k.d. lang and her band have made their way across the Tasman Sea for a performance in Wellington, New Zealand, tonight at the Michael Fowler Centre, and a stop in Auckland tomorrow night. NPR's World Cafe has broadcast an interview with and performance from k.d. "Offered up with confidence and honesty," says NPR, "k.d. lang's deeply personal narratives invite listeners into an intimate world. Her glorious voice fuses country, jazz, and even Brazilian rhythms, and on her latest CD, Watershed, she finds a certain earthy elegance."
