Gaby Moreno and Van Dyke Parks were on NPR's Alt.Latino to discuss and share tracks from their new album, ¡Spangled!. When Chris Thile hosted his public radio show Live From Here from The Town Hall in NYC last weekend, he paid tribute to Steve Reich, who premiered his Music for 18 Musicians there in 1976. The show marked the composer's upcoming birthday with Live From Here musical director Mike Elizondo and drummer Eric Doob performing Reich’s Clapping Music. "As influential a composer as our country has ever produced," Thile says. "Thank you for everything you continue to do, Steve. You are an inspiration to all of us." Watch it here.

Rachael & Vilray, whose self-titled debut album is due October 4 on Nonesuch, stopped by New York public radio station WFUV way back in July 2018 to perform live in Studio A. Vagabon (aka Laetitia Tamko) is on PRI's Studio 360. She talks with guest host Hanif Abdurraqib about moving to the US from Cameroon at 13 and making her new album some 13 years later. "I was growing really weary of Black sadness and seeing how it's consumed, more importantly," Tamko says. "I feel like Black joy is a radical thing ... The whole sonic landscape of this album is, like, 'If I'm in charge, I'm gonna choose to put myself in a position where I'm at the center of good or comfort for once.'" Daughter of Swords stopped by WNYC Studios as the guest on New Sounds' Soundcheck today to talk with host John Schaefer about her debut album, Dawnbreaker, and perform three songs from it: "Long Leaf Pine," "Fields of Gold," and "Human." "As with the songs that you wrote for the last Mountain Man record, there is a very timeless, old, really deep folk sound," says Schaefer. See for yourself in the session here.

Rhiannon Giddens was on WBUR's On Point to discuss her new album, there is no Other, and the cultural origins of music. "With her most recent record, Giddens wildly expands the scope of her musical excavations," says host Meghna Chakrabarti. "In it, Giddens show us how a chord or a drumbeat contains histories of Africa, Arabic influences, European additions, and the mix that became American music."

Live from Here with Chris Thile will kick off its fourth season from its new broadcast home, The Town Hall in NYC, on September 7. The new dates include guest performances from Lake Street Dive's own Rachael Price, Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, The Lumineers, Raphael Saadiq, Trey Anastasio, The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Jamila Woods, and more.

The Black Keys were guests on NPR's World Cafe on Friday. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney spoke with host Talia Schlanger about their songwriting process, life on the road, and their return to the studio to make their new album, "Let's Rock." They also share a live performance of four songs: "Eagle Birds" and "Go" from the new album, and earlier songs "I Got Mine" and "Lonely Boy." Hear it here.

Gaby Moreno was on WNYC's All of It on Friday to perform a few songs, including "Across the Borderline" from her upcoming album, ¡Spangled!, and talk with host Alison Stewart; you can hear it here. Later that night, she led a multi-artist concert for Celebrate Brooklyn!, welcoming several guest artists including Jackson Browne, with whom she sang "Across the Borderline," and Oscar Isaac. They closed the show with a fitting finale of "Fare Thee Well." "Bidding the crowd farewell, their three voices rose beautifully into the Brooklyn night," says Billboard. 

Daughter of Swords recently stopped by WFUV in NYC to perform an FUV Live set of two songs from her debut album, Dawnbreaker: the title track and "Shining Woman."
