Chris Thile was joined by fellow Punch Brothers Chris Eldridge and Noam Pikelny as they sat in with the band on his radio show Live From Here at The Town Hall in NYC on Saturday. For a post-broadcast encore, they performed "My Oh My," from Punch Brothers' album The Phosphorescent Blues, with guest Jon Batiste. You can watch it here. Chris Thile gave a nod to his Nonesuch label mate David Byrne when he performed the Talking Heads' tune "(Nothing But) Flowers" on Live From Here last weekend, along with special guests Maggie Rogers, Sarah Jarosz, Vulfpeck, and Punch Brothers banjoist Noam Pikelny. Watch it here. Caetano Veloso offered his own take on the song on his 2004 album, A Foreign Sound, and again, this time with Byrne, on their 2012 album, Live at Carnegie Hall.

Chris Thile spoke with WNYC's The Brian Lehrer Show about hosting the radio show Live From Here, holding Carnegie Hall's Debs Composer's Chair, becoming a MacArthur Fellow, and more. He also performed two songs: "St. Mike," a Live From Here Song of the Week about Michael Cohen, and "Attaboy," from The Goat Rodeo Sessions. You can listen to the session here. Aria Code, the new Rhiannon Giddens–hosted podcast series from The Metropolitan Opera and WQXR, launches today. The series, which takes a closer look at some of opera's legendary arias, opens with a look at Verdi's La Traviata and Violetta's Act I finale. Gabriel Kahane was a guest on Live From Here with Chris Thile on Saturday. You can watch him perform songs from his new album, Book of Travelers—"November," "Baltimore," and "Little Love," for which he was joined by Thile—here. "I love him," says Thile; "now so do you." Kahane joins Andrew Bird and the NSO at the Kennedy Center in DC this weekend and resumes his Book of Travelers tour in Austin next week.

Gaby Moreno is the guest on the latest episode of NPR's What's Good with Stretch & Bobbito. "A versatile musician and vocalist," says the show, "Moreno's style is a combination of blues, soul, Latin rock and folk that she sings in both English and Spanish." She discusses her life and career, including her interpretation of David Rudder's song "The Immigrants," which she recorded with Van Dyke Parks and released for July 4, with proceeds going to support CARECEN and its efforts to empower immigrants. Olivia Chaney stopped by The Current in St. Paul, MN, during her US tour this summer, to perform songs from her new album, Shelter, on Radio Heartland. Gabriel Kahane was on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. He spoke with host Jason Bentley about his new album, Book of Travelers, and was joined by the Lyris Quartet to perform several songs from it—"Baedeker," "Baltimore," "8980," "Little Love"—and more. Listen to the session here. Mountain Man stopped by WNYC Studios as the guest on New Sounds' Soundcheck. The trio spoke with host John Schaefer about Magic Ship and performed three songs from the new album: "AGT," "Underwear," and "Boat." "Their music features a timeless sound," says Schaefer. Olivia Chaney was on BBC Radio 2's The Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe. She performed the title track to her new album, Shelter, as well as the album tracks "Roman Holiday" and "House on a Hill," and spoke with Radcliffe about the album. Watch "Roman Holiday" here. David Byrne was a guest on NPR's World Cafe today. He spoke with host Talia Schlanger about his new album, American Utopia, its ongoing tour, and more. Gabriel Kahane was on NPR's All Things Considered. He spoke with host Ari Shapiro about his new album, Book of Travelers, and performed from it. "It's a plea for empathy," Kahane says. "I think songwriting is a way to deliver that message. I think empathy is one of the primary currencies of any type of storytelling and songwriting is no exception to that."
