    Carolina Chocolate Drops' North American tour finds them in their homestate of North Carolina for a performance in Asheville on Thursday, before heading to Canada for the Edmonton and Regina folk festivals. On an earlier tour, the band performed at the famed Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. You can watch their Opry performance of the title track to their latest album, Leaving Eden, here.

    Lianne La Havas, who is in the midst of a week-long North American tour, has premiered a new video for her song "Don't Wake Me Up," the opening track off her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, in an exclusive for Hunger magazine, which cites "her incredible talent" to say: "We’re definitely fans." Watch the video here. Following a show in Montreal and an Osheaga Festival set this week, La Havas closes out her North American tour at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Sunday.

    Bombino's US tour brought him back to Brooklyn last night for an ebullient show at Brooklyn Bowl for what the New York Times calls a "full and overjoyed" crowd. As part of the tour, which heads next to California, Bombino played at the famed Newport Folk Festival this past Sunday. NPR Music was there to capture the weekend's highlights, including his set. "There's a hypnotic kick to his music that transcends barriers of language and geography," says NPR. Watch the Newport performance of the song "Kammou Taliat" here.

    Lianne La Havas kicked off a North American summer tour this past weekend with sets at Baltimore’s Soundstage and New York's SummerStage in Central Park. She also stopped by CBS This Morning: Saturday to perform two songs off her album, Is Your Love Big Enough?: "Age" and "Lost & Found." "This is a record I can't stop listening to," says CBS's Anthony Mason. "She brings a rich array of influences to her music and an expressive voice that's drawn a big following on iTunes." Watch the performances here. The tour continues with stops in Northampton, Montreal, and Chicago.

    Audra McDonald was featured on PBS Newshour last night, speaking with the show's Art Beat correspondent Jeffrey Brown about her new album, Go Back Home. McDonald, whom Brown describes as "a leading lady of musical theater and much more," discusses her connection to the songs on the album, her most personal yet, and the sense of home she found in the theater at an early age.     Iron and Wine was the musical guest on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. Singer-songwriter Sam Beam and the band performed two songs from their album Ghost on Ghost: " Grace for Saints and Ramblers" and "The Desert Babbler. You can watch the performances here. Iron and Wine has added three additional dates—in Lincoln, Nebraska; Nashville; and Atlanta—to its previously announced fall tour. Fan pre-sale begins Wednesday.

    Rokia Traoré, who is currently touring Europe, recently performed an intimate solo version of "Ka Moun Kè" off her new album, Beautiful Africa, for the Guardian. In the exclusive live session, part of the Guardian's How I wrote ... series, she discusses the origins of this love song, the title of which translates as "Darling, What Can I Do For You?" The performance is a preview of Traoré's upcoming tour stop at the Glastonbury Festival. Watch the video here. Songlines has listed Rokia Traoré's 2009 album, Tchamantché, at No. 4 among the Top 25 Mali albums.

    Laurie Anderson began a week of special performances when she was joined by artist and activist Ai Weiwei, via Skype from Beijing, for the premiere of Greetings to the Motherland at Toronto's Luminato Festival last night; watch it in full here. Anderson leads two free concerts in New York City this week for the annual River to River Festival, featuring stories from United States Parts 1-4 with special guests Steve Buscemi and Young Jean Lee on Tuesday and a night of improvisation with longtime musical collaborators on Wednesday.

    Devendra Banhart, who is currently touring North America performing songs from his recently released Nonesuch Records debut album, Mala, was featured on Morning Becomes Eclectic out of KCRW in Santa Monica, CA, last Friday. The session, which was recording during the California leg of the tour earlier in May, includes intimate in-studio performances by Banhart and his band of a number of songs from the new album. Watch the set here. The tour continues into Montreal, Toronto, Boston, DC, and Philadelphia, before concluding at The Town Hall in New York City on June 12.

    While touring the US East Coast last month, Iron and Wine's Sam Beam stopped by the Boston Public Library to discuss his songwriting with WBUR's Off the Record and perform a couple of songs off the new album Ghost on Ghost. Watch the solo, acoustic performances of the album tracks "Caught in the Briars" and "Grace for Saints and Ramblers" and listen to the interview here. The Guardian gave four stars to last week's London show, saying "Beam writes with an artist’s eye, his songs alive with place and time ... [His] easy charm dazzles."
