    Punch Brothers celebrated the release of their new album, All Ashore, last Friday with a Facebook Live Q&A with The Bluegrass Situation. They discussed the album with host Craig Havighurst backstage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, where they performed over two nights last weekend.

    Rostam is a guest on the LSQ podcast with host Jenny Eliscu. The two met more than a decade ago, when Eliscu fell in "love at first listen" for Vampire Weekend, and she wrote about the band for Rolling Stone. "Rostam and I became friends and have had numerous conversations on the record and off in the years since but never one as focused as the conversation" for the podcast, she says.     Lake Street Dive stopped by the Spotify Studios in NYC to perform "Good Kisser," from the album Free Yourself Up, and to offer a new spin on the Annie Lennox song "Walking on Broken Glass." Both are available now as exclusive Spotify Singles, which you can hear here. Lake Street Dive has begun the summer leg of its tour and will perform on the season finale of Live From Here with host Chris Thile and fellow guests Punch Brothers at Tanglewood on Saturday.

    Dark Matter, Randy Newman's first album of new material in nine years, is due next Friday, August 4, with the vinyl due August 18. But you don't need to wait till then to hear it: the album is streaming in full below as an NPR First Listen. Newman, says NPR, "remains first and foremost a craftsman of song, capable of telling ordinary stories in ways no one quite has before."

    Randy Newman was the guest on WTF with Marc Maron. "I can't tell you what an honor it was for me to have him in here, because I love him, I love his work," says Maron. "Randy Newman, one of my heroes ... He's got a new record out, called Dark Matter, which is great. It's like a real Randy Newman record from back in the day ... He is a great satirist, a very bright guy, sharp. I loved talking to him."

    Fleet Foxes, who launched their Crack-Up world tour in the Pacific Northwest this week, have announced that the last of their four consecutive nights of shows at the Sydney Opera House in Australia will stream live via the band's Facebook page. Fans around the world can tune in live on Monday, May 29, at 8 PM in Sydney, 11 AM in London, 6 AM on the US East Coast, and bright and early (late?) at 3 AM on the West Coast, or watch it again after the concert is complete. The Fleet Foxes' shows at the Sydney Opera House, May 26–29, are part of the Vivid LIVE celebration at the iconic venue.

    Kronos Quartet and Brad Mehldau's performances at Koerner Hall in Toronto this week, part of The Royal Conservatory's 21C Music Festival, will stream live at rcmusic.ca/livestream, this Wednesday, May 25, and Thursday, respectively, both at 8 PM ET. Kronos is joined by special guest Tanya Tagaq for the world premiere her new piece written for Kronos' Fifty for the Future project. Mehldau performs his Three Pieces After Bach, of the Guardian exclaimed: "A dense and dazzling recital of Bach’s classics and the compositions and improvisations inspired by them makes this a powerful, thought-provoking gig."

    Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters' taping of the Austin City Limits show will stream live on March 21. Plant returns to the ACL stage for the first time in more than a decade, and fans around the world can tune in to the show’s YouTube Channel to watch the entire performance as it happens live from The Moody Theater in Austin. The taping will be the final performance of Plant and the band's current "Southern Journey" tour of the American South. The broadcast version will air on PBS as part of the series' upcoming Season 42, which launches this fall.

    Lake Street Dive stopped by the NPR to give a Tiny Desk Concert, performing "I Don't Care About You," "How Good It Feels," and "Godawful Things"—three songs from their new album, Side Pony, which has debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard Top Albums chart. "The appeal of this band of New England Conservatory friends lies in their warmth in harmony and comfortably styled songs," says Boilen, "sometimes tilting toward soul, often rocking danceably on a new collection of songs called Side Pony ... You can hear everyone mesh so well in these three new songs from Side Pony—songs likely to be favorites for many at year's end." You can watch the full set here.
