    As noted earlier this week in the Nonesuch Journal, Chris Thile and Michael Daves, whose debut duo album, Sleep with One Eye Open, is due out May 10, have launched a new web site about the project. The site launched with two videos, including the first in a series of performance videos captured live at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. Now comes the release of the latest video in the series: Thile and Daves performing Lester Flatt's "My Little Girl in Tennesse." Watch it here.

    Chris Thile and Michael Daves' upcoming release, Sleep with One Eye Open, is still three weeks away, but you can learn more about the album now at the newly launched thiledaves.com. This debut from mandolin virtuoso Thile and guitar-maven Daves was recorded live to tape in at Jack White’s Third Man studio in Nashville and features 16 traditional bluegrass tunes by legends like The Monroe Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jimmy Martin, and Flatt & Scruggs. The new site features tour and album info, as well as two videos: a discussion between Thile and Daves about Sleep with One Eye Open, and a live performance of the title track.

    The Black Keys have been nominated for three Billboard Music Awards: Top Alternative Artist and Top Rock Album and Top Alternative Album for their album Brothers. The guys are back on the road, performing at the Mesa Amphitheatre tonight. They play the first of several upcoming festival headlining appearances at Coachella tomorrow, which will be webcast live on YouTube. Additional upcoming performances include headlining sets at The Hangout Festival, Summerfest, Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands.     Emmylou Harris's new album, Hard Bargain, is due out on Nonesuch April 26, less than two weeks away. A deluxe edition includes a DVD featuring six performances interspersed with interviews. The video for "Goodnight Old World," from the deluxe edition of the album, received its exclusive world premiere on CMT this morning. You can watch the video, directed by Jack Spencer, here.

    James Farm, the self-titled debut album from the collaborative band featuring saxophonist Joshua Redman, pianist Aaron Parks, bassist Matt Penman, and drummer Eric Harland, is due out on Nonesuch on April 26. NPR is streaming the album in full as an NPR First Listen till then. "It's a bit like four of the best in the business just called a 'session' one day, but instead of standards, they each brought in their own music," says NPR. "And this band's labor has clearly proven fruitful."

    Chris Thile and Michael Daves's debut album, Sleep with One Eye Open, is a collection of 16 traditional tunes by bluegrass legends like The Monroe Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jimmy Martin, and Flatt & Scruggs. The duo recently performed a number of songs from the album at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City, where they kick off their East Coast tour next month. Check out their performance of the title track in a new video posted to Facebook. It's the first in a series of performance videos that will be unveiled in the coming weeks leading up to the album's release.

    Before they left for their current European tour, The Low Anthem visited NPR member station WFUV in New York to discuss their latest release, Smart Flesh, and perform a number of songs off the album. You can hear the performances on WFUV's Words and Music from Studio A and their conversation with host Claudia Marshall on npr.org. The Low Anthem's music "is at times a rowdy stomp, at others a breathless, hymn-like hush," says Marshall, "always compelling, inventive and fresh. Welcome to folk music 3.0."

    There's just one month to go before the release of Emmylou Harris's Hard Bargain. The album is available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store with a manuscript lyric sheet of the song "The Road," in which she recalls the storied time she spent with her mentor Gram Parsons. And there are now two ways to take home the song today: purchase the single from iTunes and download the song for free here.

    Sing it Loud, the new album from k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang, is now streaming in its entirety on Amazon.com till April 12, when the album makes its North American debut. lang and the band have confirmed six shows in the UK this spring, prior to their US summer tour. UK fans can catch lang on TV as well on Later with Jools Holland April 19 and The Alan Titchmarsh Show April 20. Mojo gives the album four stars.

    SXSW is in full swing today in Austin, with countless showcases, performances, parties, events, and radio broadcast on tap. Emmylou Harris and Jessica Lea Mayfield are among today's SXSW performers who can be heard around the world when their sets stream live online: Harris via NY public radio station WFUV, Mayfield on the Waterloo Records site. "Our Hearts Are Wrong," off Mayfield's album Tell Me, has been named NPR Song of the Day.

    As The Low Anthem takes their tour to Canada for shows in Toronto and Montreal, the band's Daytrotter session has been published, with live takes on five songs from their album Smart Flesh. "Without question, Smart Flesh will be a contender for album of the year when it comes to that," says Daytrotter. The band heads next to Boston, where the Boston Globe calls the album "splendid" with "hints of forebears from Bob Dylan to Vic Chesnutt to the Band."
