Jonny Greenwood will join in on the debut screenings of Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood with Greenwood's score performed live: with the London Contemporary Orchestra at the Roundhouse in London, August 6 and 7, and the Wordless Music Orchestra at the United Palace Theatre in NYC, September 19 and 20. Greenwood will play the ondes Martenot part of the score. He performs Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint at Barbican Hall on May 18 as part of the Barbican's celebraton of Nonesuch Records' 50th anniversary.

Nickel Creek's video for "Destination," off their new album, A Dotted Line, received its world premiere via NPR Music's "First Watch" feature. The video was directed by Eli Cane of Normal Life Pictures and shot in New York City during release week for A Dotted Line. You can watch the video here.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Here Lies Love, the musical featuring music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, which took home five Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway last night, including Alex Timbers for Outstanding Director and Ruthie Ann Miles for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical. The company took home the most awards at last night's ceremony. Nonesuch Records releases the original cast recording this week.

Nonesuch Records releases Louis Andriessen’s Grawemeyer Award–winning La Commedia on June 10, 2014, as a two-CD-plus-DVD set. The film opera, a collaboration with director Hal Hartley, is based on Dante’s Divine Comedy, with additional texts including the Old Testament’s “Song of Songs.” This Dutch National Opera production features the Asko and Schönberg Ensembles, led by Reinbert de Leeuw. The Washington Post calls La Commedia "an exciting, powerful and rich piece that shows Andriessen at the top of his game." The Los Angeles Times considers it "the greatest opera of the century so far." La Commedia is available to pre-order in the Nonesuch Store.

Legendary British singer/songwriter Robert Plant has signed with Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records, which will release his label debut later this year. Further details about the album, which will feature the Sensational Space Shifters band, will be announced shortly. Plant says of working with Nonesuch, “I’m pleased to find such a reputable home for our renegade departures. The support and encouragement we have received has been strong and refreshing – Turn It Up!”

The Black Keys stopped by the BBC's Maida Vale Studios in London to talk with Zane Lowe and perform three tracks from their forthcoming album, Turn Blue: the first single, "Fever"; the title track; and an exclusive new track from the album, "Bullet in the Brain." Natalie Merchant's new, self-titled album is due out next Tuesday, May 6, but you don't need to wait till then to hear it: her sixth solo collection is streaming in full all this week in the New York Times's Press Play feature. Merchant will perform at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on September 13. Joshua Redman has joined forces with the International Rescue Committee to become an IRC Voice to help raise awareness of the needs of refugees and others who have been impacted by war and disaster. “I've been greatly impressed with the depth of the International Rescue Committee’s devotion to human beings and the breadth of its work in defense of human dignity,” Redman said. As an IRC Voice, he plans to travel with the IRC to Africa later this year.

Jacob Cooper’s Nonesuch Records debut album, Silver Threads, is out now. The album comprises a six-song cycle performed by soprano Mellissa Hughes. Cooper wrote the title track for Hughes in 2011, setting a haiku attributed to Japanese poet Matsuo Bashō for voice and electronic track. To expand it into a full cycle (for voice and track), he enlisted five other poets to write text inspired by the haiku. Silver Threads is Album of the Week at WQXR's Q2 Music, which calls it "stylish, with a youthful energy." Hughes performs music from the album at (Le) Poisson Rouge in NYC on May 7.
