The twenty-seven disc box set Steve Reich Collected Works, out next Friday, March 14, on Nonesuch, includes a chronology of the composer's life and work—his forty years on the label and six decades of compositions heard in the collection, from It’s Gonna Rain (1965) to his two latest works, Traveler’s Prayer (2020) and Jacob’s Ladder (2023). A new video brings that chronology to life; you can watch it here.

Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway are featured in the latest installment of American Currents: State of the Music, the annual exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville showcasing country music and its place in American culture over the past year, open through January 2026. "I’m so honored to be included," Tuttle says. "I can’t thank the Country Music Hall of Fame enough for all the support they’ve shown me through the years. It’s extra special for me to share this display with Shelby, Kyle, Dom, and Bronwyn after countless miles and performances together."

Rhiannon Giddens and Justin Robinson have unveiled “Marching Jaybird,” an instrumental track from their forthcoming album of North Carolina fiddle and banjo music, What Did the Blackbird Say to the Crow, due April 18. Revisiting this tune recorded by Etta Baker, one of their musical heroes and a key inspiration for making this new album, and recording it at Baker’s Morganton, NC, home "was a magical moment for Justin and me," Giddens says. "Walking into her house, which is frozen in time, looking just like it did when she was alive, very much reminded us of women in our families; sitting in her living room and recording this piece learned from her playing was pretty profound." Giddens has also announced a number of new tour dates, including the Hollywood Bowl, and shared more details about her Biscuits & Banjos festival, which takes place in Durham, NC, April 25–27.

Guitarist and composer Yasmin Williams, who continues her own headline tour later this month, will join St. Paul and the Broken Bones and The Wood Brothers as their special guest on six dates in the US Midwest in July. The shows start at Rock the Ruins in Indianapolis on July 10 and include stops in Cleveland, Interlochen, Fort Wayne, St. Louis, and Kansas City. General on-sale begins this Friday.

Hurray for the Riff Raff, following the announcement of their headline US tour last week and the start of their tour with Bright Eyes,  has just added a handful of additional performances for 2025. Extending their run of shows from spring and summer into fall, newly added stops include an appearance at Newport Folk Festival, dates with The Head and the Heart, and a special night in their new home city of Chicago, at Old Town School of Folk Music.

A three-song suite from the album Song of the Earth, David Longstreth’s song cycle for orchestra and voices he performs with his band Dirty Projectors and the chamber orchestra s t a r g a z e—“At Home,” “Circled in Purple,” and “Our Green Garden”—is out now, along with a lyric video you can watch here. “Past reports of Dirty Projectors going full prog are greatly exaggerated; until now I’ve never released an album with a straight-up suite of songs," Longstreth says. "As the slashes in the title imply, this is a three-song suite. It’s just the way it happened. Consider it an entry in your ‘A Day in the Life’ / ‘Paranoid Android’ / ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ / ‘Sicko Mode’ category: a sprawling journey that feels like slipping into a dream. A kaleidoscopic river-of-consciousness.”

Hurray for the Riff Raff, just before the one-year anniversary of their acclaimed album The Past Is Still Alive, has shared their first new single and music video of 2025, “Pyramid Scheme.” The song embodies that record’s spirit of resilience and rebellion, with lyrical nods to Billy the Kid, Calamity Jane, Darby Crash, and Frida Kahlo. Composer/performer David Longstreth, whose new album with his band Dirty Projectors and the chamber orchestra s t a r g a z e, Song of the Earth, is out April 4, stopped by for the Nonesuch Selects video series, in which artists visit the Nonesuch office, pick some of their favorite albums from the music library, and share a few words on their choices. He chose recordings by David Byrne, Jonny Greenwood, Bulgarian State Television Female Choir, Caetano Veloso, Tyondai Braxton, Scritti Politti, and João Gilberto, and from the Nonesuch Explorer Series.
