Sam Amidon, whose new album, The Following Mountain, is due May 26, has announced several European tour dates in the autumn. The concerts begin with his first-ever headline show at Union Chapel in London on October 26 and include performances in Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Amidon will perform in Minnesota and at the Eaux Claires festival in Wisconsin this spring.

Conor Oberst was in Sydney, Australia, in February to give an intimate solo performance at the Sydney Opera House, which The Music described as "simply mesmerising." He opened the set with his song "Tachycardia," from his new albums, Ruminations and Salutations. Oberst also performed the song for the Sydney Opera House's Nooks & Crannies video series, which showcases unseen spaces inside the iconic venue. For the video, which you can watch here, Oberst is at the piano, joined by Miwi La Lupa on bass, to perform "Tachycardia" in the Opera House scenery dock.

Tigran Hamasyan has unveiled the music video for "Markos and Markos," a song from his new album, An Ancient Observer. The screenplay, direction, and animation for the video are by Naira Muradyan, inspired by Zahrad's poem "Marc and Marc." You can watch it here.

The Celebrity Series of Boston has announced its 2017–2018 concert season, and among the artists performing through the acclaimed series at venues in and around Boston next season are four Nonesuch artists: Chris Thile, Jeremy Denk, Audra McDonald, and Joshua Redman. Three-concert subscriptions are on sale now.

Mandy Patinkin, after having completed filming the latest season of the Showtime series Homeland, traveled to Europe with his wife Kathryn to continue his work with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), visiting refugee camps and helping to shed light on the humanitarian crisis. He was also reunited with a Syrian family he had first met in a refugee camp in their new home in Germany. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, and bassist Edgar Meyer released Bach Trios, an album of Bach works originally written for keyboard instruments, on CD and digitally last Friday, with the vinyl due April 21. Here, the artists speak with writer Michael Hill about the project and how it came to be.

Bach Trios, an album of Bach works recorded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, and bassist Edgar Meyer, is out now on CD and digitally, with the two-LP vinyl edition due April 21. The album comprises works by J.S. Bach originally written for keyboard instruments, plus one sonata for viola da gamba. In 2011, Ma, Thile, and Meyer—along with Stuart Duncan—collaborated on The Goat Rodeo Sessions, which won two Grammy Awards. The Times of London calls Bach Trios "effervescent" and "irresistible." The trio performs in nine cities across the US beginning April 21.

David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's musical Here Lies Love begins its two-month run at the Seattle Repertory Theatre tonight, with the official Opening Night set for April 20. Seattle Rep's Bagley Wright Theatre transforms into a vibrant dance party, where techno beats spin and tell the story of former Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos, retracing her meteoric rise to power and subsequent descent into infamy and disgrace at the end of the People Power Revolution. Nonesuch released the original cast album in 2014 and an all-star album of songs from Here Lies Love in 2010.

When Nonesuch Records celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014, with festivals at the Barbican in London and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Kronos Quartet joined forces with labelmates Sam Amidon, Olivia Chaney, Rhiannon Giddens, and Natalie Merchant to perform a concert entitled Folk Songs. The group later recorded the songs, most of which are traditional with contemporary arrangements, with Doug Petty as producer. Folk Songs will be released June 9, 2017, and is available to pre-order with an instant download of the track "The Butcher's Boy," featuring Merchant.

The Magnetic Fields have unveiled the video for "'12 You Can Never Go Back to New York," from their new album, 50 Song Memoir. The song is one of fifty on the five-disc set that chronicles the fifty years of songwriter Stephin Merritt's life with one song per year. You can watch the video here. The video was directed by Alex Basco Koch and José Zayas, produced at Ghost Corporeal. It was originally created for the Magnetic Fields' 50 Song Memoir concert tour directed by Zayas.
