    Congratulations to Punch Brothers' Chris Thile has been nominated for a 2008 Americana Award by the Americana Music Association. Chris joins an esteemed group of nominees in the Instrumentalist of the Year category, which also includes Sam Bush, Gurf Morlix, and Buddy Miller, who appears on Emmylou Harris's new album, All I Intended to Be.

    Emmylou Harris, one day after the release of her latest album, All I Intended to Be, stops by the WNYC studios to discuss the new album on today's episode of The Leonard Lopate Show. The show begins at noon ET on 93.9 FM in the New York City area and can be heard around the world live online at wnyc.org. Also on today's show, Lopate takes a look at the rise of a new generation of liberal media, including Jon Stewart and MoveOn.org.

    Emmylou Harris's new album, All I Intended to Be, hits stores today. "Like cool water on a hot day," writes the Boston Globe's Sarah Rodman, "Emmylou Harris's bruised-angel voice remains a welcome balm." After visiting the Today show this morning, Emmylou spends a few more days in New York City to perform on the Late Show with David Letterman Thursday night and, earlier that evening, at the flagship Barnes & Noble store in Union Square, beginning at 7 PM.

    The 62nd Ojai Music festival came to a close Sunday night as it began the Thursday before, with the music of featured composer, Steve Reich. It was Reich's first time at the event since he gave the West Coast premiere of his Four Organs there in 1973. This time around, it was So Percussion that performed the piece, and there was plenty more of the composer's work to be heard throughout the event's four days.

    In this final episode of the five-part video series on Emmylou Harris's new record, All I Intended to Be, due out on Tuesday, Emmylou reflects on her long relationship with the Seldom Scene's John Starling, Mike Auldridge, and Tom Gray, who join her again on three of the new album's tracks: Merle Haggard's "Kern River," J. C. Crowley and Jack Wesley Routh's  "Beyond the Great Divide," and Billy Joe Shaver's "Old Five and Dimers Like Me," the lyrics of which inspired the album's title.
