The Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers will be among the performers at the first of four Dave Matthew Band Caravan festivals this summer, which takes place this weekend at Bader Field in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In addition to performances from the Carolina Chocolate Drops, who take the Boardwalk Stage today at 2:30 PM, and Punch Brothers, who take the same stage at the same time tomorrow, the three-day festival includes performances from David Gray, The Flaming Lips, Dr. Dog, Guster, Vusi Mahlasela, The Head and the Heart, and many others, as well as full sets from the Dave Matthews Band each night. The festival weekend will also include a number of late night shows at other Atlantic City venues.

In two weeks, July 8–10, the Caravan pulls up in Chicago for the second three-day festival, at Lakeside, on the south shore of Lake Michigan. Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds will be among the weekend's performers, who also include Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Daniel Lanois, Vieux Farka Toure, Liz Phair, and many others, as well as a performance of Dark Side of the Moon by The Flaming Lips and full sets from the Dave Matthews Band.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers will be just missing each other at the ROMP bluegrass and roots music festival in Owensboro, Kentucky, this weekend, as Punch Brothers are there today, and the Chocolate Drops head there tomorrow. In fact, the Chocolate Drops will be playing the set just before Emmylou Harris performs.

American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
