John Adams and Jeremy Denk will take part in a new weekend festival at the Barbican in London. At the end of October, the Barbican and its family of orchestras will stage Sound Unbound: The Barbican Classical Weekender. This weekend-long event, Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, 2015, offers audiences a chance to discover great music in an informal festival environment, including performances from Jeremy Denk on both days and a concert from the London Symphony Orchestra led by John Adams on Sunday.
Sound Unbound will take over the Barbican Centre and surrounding venues featuring over 50 short concerts across 48 hours in different locations that will showcase a variety of artists and music, including that of Adams, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel, Ravel, Purcell, Schubert, Bach, Stravinsky, Beethoven, and more. Alongside the live music program, a range of conversations and debates will take place throughout the weekend, while a team of hosts will guide audiences through the music on offer.
