English singer/songwriter/guitarist Lianne La Havas kicks off a fully sold-out tour of the United States at The McKittrick Hotel in New York City tonight. The show is the first in a series of intimate solo club dates stopping in Boston, DC, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Oakland, and culminating with a show at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles on February 11. See below for all the details.

The tour features music from La Havas's second album, Blood, which was released by Nonesuch / Warner Bros. Records in the US over the summer and has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album. The new dates come on the heels of her fall 2015 tour, which included a stop at NPR for a Tiny Desk Concert and ended with a guest stint on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert with house band Jon Batiste and Stay Human.

Upon the new album's release, Pitchfork said, "Blood is dynamic and poignantly self-assured in its introspection … an almost seamless album," and the Boston Globe said, "[Jamaica's] rhythmic pleasures permeate Blood, her most sonically diverse effort yet, pulsating with electronic flourishes that create a fascinating tension against the serene elegance of her voice … a beautiful album that builds on the buzz of her first one."

To pick up a copy of Blood, head to iTunes or the Nonesuch Store.

David Longstreth’s Song of the Earth, a song cycle for orchestra and voices, is due April 4. Performed by Longstreth with his band Dirty Projectors—Felicia Douglass, Maia Friedman, Olga Bell—and the Berlin-based chamber orchestra s t a r g a z e, conducted by André de Ridder, the album also features Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie), Steve Lacy, Patrick Shiroishi, Anastasia Coope, Tim Bernardes, Ayoni, Portraits of Tracy, and the author David Wallace-Wells. Longstreth says that while Song of the Earth—his biggest-yet foray into the field of concert music—"is not a ‘climate change opera,’” he wanted to “find something beyond sadness: beauty spiked with damage. Acknowledgement flecked with hope, irony, humor, rage.”
