On Saturday, the band headlines the first-ever New Shoots Blue Grass Festival, presented by the Caramoor Festival in Katonah, New York. They play at the Venetian Theater, following Sandra Wong and the New Trad Trio, and Crooked Still.
Earlier this week, BlackBook magazine featured Punch Brothers among "Eight Great Bands Emerging Outside of Williamsburg and the Lower East Side," two of New York City's reigning hipster neighborhoods. The Black Keys have two European festival appearances this weekend. They play tonight at the Peninsula of Malsaucy as part of Les Eurockéennes de Belfort festival in Belfort, France, and Sunday at the Haachtsesteenweg in Werchter Belgium, as part of the Rock Werchter Festival. Monday, they appear at O2 Academy in Birmingham, England, kicking off the UK leg of their European tour. The Black Keys return to the United States later this month to tour starting with a July 23 date opening for The Flaming Lips in upstate New York.
The Times Record out of Fort Smith, Arkansas, writes of the band's recent show there and of their latest Nonesuch release, Brothers: "Their energy-to-the-brim set was a sun-covered highlight at the recent Wakarusa Music & Camping Festival near Ozark, and their new studio work is just as deserving of captive ears." Brad Mehldau is touring Europe, and this weekend will perform two solo concerts. Saturday he will be at the Kraftzentrale in Duisburg, Germany, as part of the Traumzeit Jazz Festival. On Sunday, he will headline the Montreax Jazz Festival in Montreax, Switzerland, performing in Stravinksy Hall.

The Pat Metheny Group kicked off a month-long tour of Europe, billed as The Song Book Tour, earlier this week in Slovenia. The group, featuring Metheny, Lyle Mays, Steve Rodby, and Antonio Sanchez, plays tonight at Congress Hall in Warsaw, Poland. On Sunday, they follow Brad Mehldau's lead at the Traumzeit Jazz Festival, performing at the Kraftzentrale in Duisburg, Germany. The tour continues through Germany, as the Pat Metheny Group plays in Neuhardenberg on Monday at the Schlosspark-Buhne.

This weekend marks the first performances of Allen Toussaint at the Montreal Jazz Festival as a leader. He will give a solo concert on Sunday at Gesù, Centre de créativité, and on Monday, his Bright Mississippi Band will perform music from Toussaint's debut Nonesuch album, The Bright Mississippi, at Théâtre Jean-Duceppe, featuring fellow Nicholas Payton, Don Byron, Marc Ribot, David Piltch, and Herman LeBeaux.

Wilco's Jeff Tweedy gives two solo concerts in Spain this weekend. Saturday, he headlines the Faraday Independent Music Festival in Moli del Mar, outside of Barcelona. Monday he plays at the Tenerife Auditorium in Tenerife. At a recent outing, Tweedy gave audiences a special treat when he performed Beyoncé smash hit "Single Ladies." There's no telling what's in store this weekend.

Sara Watkins is currently on tour supporting Dar Williams. The two perform at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio, tonight, and at Western Gate Park in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sunday, as part of the 80/35 Music Festival.
