Following last night’s Scullers set, the three-night run continues with two sets each night tonight and Saturday. The US leg of the tour concludes with shows at the Swyer Theatre in Albany on Sunday and the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, Massachusetts, on Tuesday. Laurie Anderson gives the West Coast premiere of the multimedia presentation of her new book, All the Things I Lost in the Flood, at Bram Goldsmith Theater at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles tonight. Her award-winning virtual-reality film receives its New York premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival today.

“We are in a crisis in terms of, not just what's a real story, but what is real," Anderson tells the Los Angeles Times in an interview ahead of tonight’s show. You can read what else she has to say here.

Both David Byrne and Fleet Foxes continue their US tours at the second Coachella weekend in Indio, California, playing back-to-back sets at the Outdoor Theatre starting at 7pm on Saturday. Fleet Foxes play a headlining show at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley tonight.

Also this weekend, Fleet Foxes release a new, limited-edition black vinyl 7" single at independent record stores around the world for Record Store Day on Saturday. It’s a special recording of the title track to their 2017 album, Crack-Up, performed with Icelandic women’s choir Graduale Nobli, in Reykjavik, and an intimate version of "In the Morning" recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

---

Olivia Chaney continues her tour of Europe as special guest of Alela Diane with a sold-out show at Zonnehuis in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Chaney will release her new album, Shelter, on Nonesuch in June. The album, produced by Thomas Bartlett, features eight original songs, along with Chaney's takes on Purcell's "O Solitude" and the Everly Brothers’ "Long Time Gone.” Tickets for her record-release shows at New York’s (Le) Poisson Rouge and London’s Hoxton Hall are on sale now.

Pianist Jeremy Denk joins violinist Stefan Jackiw and the Hudson Shad vocal quartet in performing Ives’ Violin Sonatas Nos. 1–4 at The Town Hall in New York City on Sunday afternoon. They perform songs from their 2015 album, Junun, which the Times of London called “essential listening."

Jonny Greenwood’s score to Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film, Phantom Thread, released earlier this year on CD and digitally, is now available in a deluxe double-vinyl package.

---

Kronos Quartet plays the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Saturday. On the program are works by Laurie Anderson, Rhiannon Giddens, Philip Glass, Terry Riley, and more, including pieces composed for the quartet’s Fifty for the Future commissioning project.

Audra McDonald performs at Staller Center for the Arts at Stony Brook University in New York on Saturday. The Boston Globe, reviewing her concert at Symphony Hall last weekend, exclaims: “Audra McDonald dazzles.”

---

Saxophonist Joshua Redman performs as special guest of the Antwerp Jazz Orchestra at CC Muze in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, tonight.

Nonesuch releases Still Dreaming, an album by Redman, drummer Brian Blade, bassist Scott Colley, and trumpeter Ron Miles, on May 25. American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
