Rostam has released a new song, "In a River," his first new song since his debut album, Half-Light, last year. Watch the video, directed by Rostam and animated by Jon Race, here. "I often want the songs I produce to be meeting places for organic and electronic sounds—old traditions and new ones," Rostam says. “‘In a River’ is new territory for me, because although it’s a studio recording, it’s pulling from one of the oldest traditions in music, a live performance in front of an audience." He performs at Belly Up in Solana Beach and The Fonda Theatre in LA this week.

Indeed, Rostam has played the new song at every show on his Half-Light tour this year, and he is sure to do so again in his two Southern California concerts this week: at Belly Up in Solana Beach on Thursday and The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday. To pick up a copy of Half-Light, head to iTunes, Amazon, or the Nonesuch Store, where CD and vinyl orders include a download of the complete album at checkout; you can also hear it on Apple Music and Spotify. Rostam released Half-Light Remixes: EP 1—reimagined versions of Half-Light by Tourist, Jim-E Stack, Instupendo, and Matsor Projects—earlier this year.
