Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriters Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle announce a special run of tour dates together this March: “Songs and Stories, Together Onstage,” in which they share the stage for a night of song swapping, duets, storytelling, and guitar playing. These two longtime friends and mutual admirers will share music from their extensive catalogues as well as some of their favorite songs by other classic songwriters. The tour kicks off at Carnegie Library Music Hall of Homestead outside Pittsburgh on March 18, followed by stops in Bethlehem, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Durham, Nashville, Richmond, Troy, Boston, and Philadelphia. See below for all of the currently announced dates; for additional details, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
Shawn Colvin’s latest album, All Fall Down, released on Nonesuch Records in 2012, is her eighth studio album and the first to be produced by her longtime friend and cohort Buddy Miller. Recorded in Nashville, it features a group of stellar musicians including Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Bill Frisell, and Jakob Dylan. The album’s release was simultaneous with the publication of her memoir, Diamond in the Rough. Both the CD and book are available to purchase in the Nonesuch Store.
Steve Earle's 15th studio album, The Low Highway, was released in 2013 and features the Grammy-nominated song "Invisible.” Earle is recognized as an actor from his roles in the acclaimed HBO series The Wire and Treme as well as appearances on Law & Order and the Tim Blake Nelson film Leaves of Grass. He will be seen in the forthcoming feature film The World Made Straight. He is also host of The Steve Earle Show: Hardcore Troubadour Radio, on Sirius XM Radio. Earle can be heard on the 2010 Nonesuch release of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's Here Lies Love song cycle, performing the song "A Perfect Hand."
