The Staves have been nominated for two UK Americana Awards: UK Album of the Year for If I Was and UK Song of the Year for the album track "Black & White." The band will perform at the Firefly Festival in Delaware in June.
The shortlisted Awards nominees for the UK Americana Awards 2016 have been announced, and among them are The Staves, who are up for UK Album of the Year for If I Was and UK Song of the Year for the album track "Black & White." The awards will be presented to the winners at the inaugural UK Americana Awards show at St John at Hackney on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.
"The voices are still silken, the sibling harmonies still graceful," says the Guardian of the new Justin Vernon–produced album, but with "the music taking thrilling leaps in character and complexity." The New York Times says the trio brings "angelic harmonies" to the "consistently daring" album. Stereogum calls it "essential listening."
