Nonesuch Records and PS Classics will release the cast album of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music on April 6, 2010; the album is now available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store. The production, which opened on December 13, 2009, at the Walter Kerr Theatre, stars Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones, five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury, and Olivier Award nominee Alexander Hanson. Directed by Trevor Nunn, it is the first revival of the show since its 1973 debut, which ran for 601 performances and won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. Tommy Krasker produced the album.

As with almost all CDs in the Nonesuch Store, all orders of A Little Night Music include the album as high-quality, 320kbps MP3s at no additional charge, available on release day. The limited number of autographed posters signed by the three principals sold out as soon as they were made available in the Nonesuch Store this morning.

A Little Night Music stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Desirée Armfeldt, Angela Lansbury as Madame Armfeldt, Alexander Hanson as Fredrik Egerman, Aaron Lazar as Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm, Erin Davie as Countess Charlotte Malcolm, Leigh Ann Larkin as Petra, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka as Henrik Egerman. The cast also includes Stephen R. Buntrock, Bradley Dean, Katherine Leigh Doherty, Marissa McGowan, Betsy Morgan, Jayne Paterson, Kevin David Thomas, Keaton Whittaker, Karen Murphy, Erin Stewart, Kevin Vortmann.

Based on Ingmar Bergman's film Smiles of a Summer Night, A Little Night Music is set in a weekend country house in late 19th-century Sweden, bringing together surprising liaisons, long simmering passions, and a taste of love's endless possibilities. The story centers on the elegant actress Desirée Armfeldt (Zeta-Jones) and the spider's web of sensuality, intrigue, and desire that surrounds her. The Sondheim score features one of the composer's best-known songs, "Send in the Clowns," as well as "Every Day a Little Death," "The Miller's Son," and "A Weekend in the Country."

Trevor Nunn's production of A Little Night Music debuted to critical acclaim at London's Menier Chocolate Factory in November 2008 and subsequently transferred to the West End, where it played a successful limited engagement through July 25, 2009.

The Amsterdam-based duo of Bolivian-born singer/instrumentalist Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and Chicago ex-pat jazz drummer Frank Rosaly have released a remix of "BALADA PARA LA CORPORATOCRACIA," from their debut album, MESTIZX, by Andy Moor, of the Dutch anarcho-punk band The Ex. "Andy has so much experience with communal music from around the globe ... but he’s also lived the life of a musical activist, which is apparent in everything he does," Ferragutti and Rosaly say. "We didn’t think 'BALADA PARA LA CORPORATOCRACIA' could get any filthier, but he proved us wrong!" Ferragutti, Rosaly, and their band tour the US in March, with shows in Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, NYC, and Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.
