Today is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, and that means one thing: Black Friday, the busiest,  shopping day of the year. While that can make for a less than ideal shopping experience, indie record stores across the country have gotten together to help keep up the holiday cheer with Record Store Day, offering unique recordings from some of your favorite artists. Fittingly, The Black Keys are on board this Black Friday, with the release of a special, limited-edition box set of their hit album Brothers.

Included in this package are the original Brothers album in double 45 RPM vinyl and CD versions as well as a bonus 10” featuring six previously unreleased tracks recorded live at singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach's studio, Easy Eye Sound, and a limited-edition poster. And if your local shop is already sold out, not to worry: you can pick up a copy of this Black Keys Black Friday special here in the Nonesuch Store. To sweeten the deal even further, our ongoing anniversary sale of 33% off all CDs, LPs, and DVDs brings the price to under $27 here at nonesuch.com!

For more information and to order your copy of the Brothers 45 RPM Black Friday Edition from the Nonesuch Store, with high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the original album included at checkout, click here.

Brothers debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart back in May and #2 on the Current Albums chart—the band’s highest chart positions ever. The single "Tighten Up" went to No. 1 at Modern Rock radio, marking the duo's first number-one hit as well as the first in Nonesuch's 40-plus year history. The video for the single won Breakthrough Video at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. The song was produced by Danger Mouse and the winning video was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero. You can watch the video at nonesuch.com/media.

Aside from “Tighten Up” and a cover of the Jerry Butler classic “Never Gonna Give You Up,” the songs on Brothers are written, performed, and produced by The Black Keys. Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney recorded the bulk of the album at the legendary Alabama studio Muscle Shoals with additional sessions at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound System in Akron, Ohio, and The Bunker in Brooklyn, New York.

The band is back in the States following an extensive European tour and go back on the road next week, starting with a performance at Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville, Florida, as headliners at The Big Ticket from X102.9. For the complete schedule, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Way Out of Easy, the first album from guitarist Jeff Parker and his long-running ETA IVtet—saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Jay Bellerose—since their 2022 debut Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which Pitchfork named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, is out now on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. Like that album, The Way Out of Easy comprises recordings from LA venue ETA, where Parker and the ensemble held a weekly residency for seven years. During that time, the ETA IVtet evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form journeys into innovative, groove-oriented improvised music. All four tracks on The Way Out of Easy come from a single night in 2023, providing an unfiltered view of the ensemble, fully in their element.

Composer and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire’s honey from a winter stone is out January 17, 2025, on Nonesuch Records. The album, which Ambrose calls a “self-portrait,” features improvisational vocalist Kokayi, pianist Sam Harris, Chiquitamagic on synthesizer, drummer Justin Brown, and the Mivos Quartet. Akinmusire says, “In many respects this entire work is inspired by and is an homage to the work of the composer Julius Eastman and his organic music concept." The opening track, “muffled screams,” is out now.
