The Low Anthem announces the release of a special limited-edition vinyl 7-inch of its single "Charlie Darwin" on March 2 [update: now March 23], featuring new and unreleased material. The single's A-side includes "Charlie Darwin," off the band's Nonesuch debut, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin, and the B-side includes two staples from the band's live show, the previously unreleased "Sally Where'd You Get Your Liquor From" (originally by Rev. Gary Davis) and "Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around" (originally by Blind Willie McTell), a bonus track previously only available on iTunes. The "Darwin" 7-inch package references the band's initial hand-painted and silkscreened self-release of Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. To pre-order your copy now, visit the Nonesuch Store.

The band is preparing for its first headlining tour, playing dates across the country with support from Timber Timbre, Lissie, The Wheel, Annie and the Beekeepers, and more along the way. They will also hit this year's SXSW and Sasquatch festivals. Before embarking on their headline dates, the band will support The Avett Brothers on ten mostly sold-out shows, beginning next week.

The Guardian gives four stars to The Low Anthem's recent show at Manchester University in England. Citing singer-songwriter Ben Knox Miller's description of the band's music as "apocalyptic hymnals," reviewer Dave Simpson pleads: "One hopes the Four Horsemen will hold off long enough for them to make another album." Simpson offers his own description of the music as "songs that find comfort in their own humanity."

Upon the album's physical release last month, it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Current Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, and Pitchfork named it Best New Music, saying: "The vibe is laid-back, but it rewards rapt attention ... The twenty-seven disc box set Steve Reich Collected Works is due March 14, 2025, on Nonesuch. It features music recorded during the composer's forty years on the label—six decades of his compositions, including first recordings of his two latest works, Jacob’s Ladder and Traveler’s Prayer—plus two extensive booklets with new essays by Robert Hurwitz, Michael Tilson Thomas, Russell Hartenberger, Judith Sherman, and Nico Muhly, and a comprehensive listener’s guide by Timo Andres. Nonesuch made its first record with Steve Reich in 1985; he was signed exclusively to the label that year. Collected Works includes twenty-four discs of Nonesuch recordings and three from other labels.
