Conor Oberst has unveiled the third video from his new album Upside Down Mountain. You can watch the enigmatic short for "Common Knowledge," a companion piece to the album's first video, "Zigzagging Toward the Light," here. The video's release comes just a few days before he embarks on the second leg of a coast-to-coast US tour, beginning September 14 in Salt Lake City. Oberst will release two previously unheard songs, “Standing on the Outside Looking In” and “Sugar Street” for this year's Black Friday Record Store Day on November 28.

Oberst will release two previously unheard songs, “Standing on the Outside Looking In” and “Sugar Street”—recorded during the Upside Down Mountain sessions—for this year's Black Friday Record Store Day on November 28. Watch this space for details.

Upside Down Mountain, his debut album for Nonesuch Records, was released in May and has been hailed by critics as a creative triumph for the Bright Eyes frontman. To pick up a copy of the album, head to iTunes or the Nonesuch Store, where vinyl and CD orders include a free MP3 download of the complete album at checkout.

The fall tour, featuring special guest Jonathan Wilson, will make stops in Salt Lake City, Austin, Dallas, Seattle, Portland, and more. Los Angeles fans can see him play a very special co-headline show with folk legend John Prine at the Greek Theater on October 5. See below for all of the currently scheduled dates.

    The Black Keys have released a new song, “I’m With The Band,” written with and featuring Beck, from the upcoming Ohio Players (Trophy Edition). It's the third song from that expanded version of the band's latest album on which Beck sings and which he co-wrote with The Black Keys, including the original Ohio Players tracks “Paper Crown,” featuring Juicy J, and “Beautiful People (Stay High).” The Black Keys have added new tour dates at festival in Monterrey, Mexico, and Tempe, AZ, in early 2025.

    The original score for Ken Burns’s new two-part documentary, LEONARDO da VINCI, with new compositions by Caroline Shaw, is out now; the documentary airs on November 18 and 19 at 8pm ET on PBS. The album features performances by the composer’s longtime collaborators Attacca Quartet, Sō Percussion, and Roomful of Teeth as well as John Patitucci. Shaw wrote and recorded new music for LEONARDO da VINCI, marking the first time a Ken Burns film has featured an entirely original score. Also out today is a music video for the album track "The Mona Lisa," which can be seen here.
