Pianist Jeremy Denk recently invited NPR into his apartment in New York City as he sat down to practice the Ligeti Piano Etudes featured on his recently released Nonesuch Records debut album, Ligeti/Beethoven. Last week, NPR posted a video from the session, in which Denk walks viewers through the apartment as he prepares his "piano boot camp" to practice the pieces; you can watch that video here. Now come the performances themselves: Denk practicing three Ligeti etudes from Book 1—"Fanfares," "Arc-en-ciel," and "Automne à Varsovie"—which NPR captured on video and can be seen below via the NPR Music YouTube channel.

To pick up a copy of Ligeti/Beethoven, head to the Nonesuch Store, where CD orders include instant downloads of the album at checkout; the album is also available to purchase there as MP3s and lossless FLAC.

Denk's next live concert performance is scheduled for July 6 at the Western Washington University Performing Arts Center in Bellingham, Washington, as part of the Bellingham Festival of Music. He joins the Festival Orchestra in performing Mozart's Piano Concert #21 in C Major, KV 467. For more on this and other upcoming performances from Denk, go to nonesuch.com/on-tour.
