    The video for Ben Folds's "Working Day," off Lonely Avenue, his 2010 collaborative album with Nick Hornby, has premiered on the Huffington Post, which also features an interview with Folds. The video showcases audiences recorded during his January tour across the US Midwest, each given specific parts. The arrangement was later weaved together to create a 14,000 voice choir seen and heard on the video. Watch it here. Folds launches his US summer tour tomorrow in Tulsa.

    Ben Folds has three more shows in his Australian tour, before heading to Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea. He spoke with 774 ABC Melbourne radio about working with Nick Hornby on their album Lonely Avenue, which The Australian calls "a fine ensemble of adult pop songs ... He has a gift for seizing on the minutiae of everyday life and wrapping them in well-crafted melodies." The Brisbane Times says: "The musician's feel for the rhythm and emotional arc of a good story perfectly complements the novelist's lyrics."

    Ben Folds launches a month-long tour of Australia, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea this week in Canberra. He returns to the US to tour this summer. Folds recently recorded Ke$ha's "Sleazy," a tour favorite, to support the Japan tsunami relief efforts. He has now released a video for the song. MTV describes Folds as "a musician's musician: someone who knows everything one needs to know about the craft of songwriting" and calls the cover "a welcome experiment." Perez Hilton says: "This is just flat-out EPIC." Watch it here.

    Ben Folds, who is set to tour Australia and Asia next month, has just announced several new US summer tour dates, including performances in Tulsa, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Tucson, Tempe, Anaheim, San Francisco, Birmingham, and Minneapolis, as well as sets at the XPoNential Music Festival in Philadelphia and the DMB Caravan in Chicago. Folds has released a cover of Ke$ha's "Sleazy" to support Japanese relief efforts and will join Damian Kulash, Amanda Palmer, and Neil Gaiman at the Rethink Music conference in Boston for a songwriting/recording marathon.

    Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds will be among the performers at the Chicago stop on the Dave Matthew Band Caravan, a series of three-day, multi-artist festivals taking place in four US cities this summer. The event will take place July 8–10 at Lakeside, on Chicago's south shore of Lake Michigan. Today's announcement follows last month's unveiling of the first stop on the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, June 24–26, in Atlantic City, which, will feature performances from the Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers.

    As Japanese recovery efforts continue, people from all walks of life and countries around the world have responded in support of those efforts. One such response came from SXSW last weekend: SXSW 4 Japan, a 12-hour telethon, organized by the band Hanson and streamed live online, which raised more than $100,000 for the Red Cross.     Ben Folds's Lonely Avenue tour of Europe got off to a smashing good start in Ireland and the UK this past week. The Independent gives a perfect five stars to the "monumental" London show, with Folds "amazing the audience time and again ... It's an absolute joy to watch someone so gifted perform." MusicOMH gives the concert five stars as well, calling it "a performance that doesn't set a foot wrong, from an artist who systematically matches storytelling with perfect orchestration and harmony. Impeccable." The Evening Standard says Folds's "musicianship shone through with jazzy interludes from his band and beautiful harmonies."

    Ben Folds kicks off the European leg of his 2011 world tour with a performance at Vicar Street in Dublin tonight, featuring music from his latest album, Lonely Avenue, a collaboration with English novelist Nick Hornby. After Saturday's stop in Birmingham, England, the tour heads to Hornby's hometown of London for a performance at the Hammersmith Apollo on Sunday. Time Out London recommends the show, calling Folds an artist "whose style suggests a Randy Newman for the iPod generation."

    Ben Folds's US tour came to close one day earlier than expected when his concert in Tulsa tonight had to be postponed due to a major snowstorm blanketing the region. Throughout the tour, Folds has enlisted the help of audience members to perform an a cappella version of the song "Working Day" off Lonely Avenue, his collaboration with Nick Hornby.     Ben Folds brought 2010 to a close on a high note, with his Nick Hornby collaboration, Lonely Avenue, having made a number of year-end best lists and The Sing-Off, the NBC singing competition of which he was a judge, a smash hit. Folds is now set to bring music from both to venues across the US as he launches his 2011 tour with support from Sing-Off finalists Street Corner Symphony. Folds then tours Europe, Australia, and Japan in the coming months.

    Ben Folds brought his Lonely Avenue tour to NYC on Tuesday for a sold-out show at the Beacon. The tour continues late next month, including two just-announced shows in Missouri and Oklahoma. The Village Voice describes the songs of Lonely Avenue as "stupendously likable." Nick Hornby, Folds's writing partner, made the USA Today's Pop Candy's 100 People of 2010. Folds appeared on the Today show to talk about the album at The Sing-Off; you can watch the segment here.
