Björk’s music video for “Mutual Core,” from her album Biophilia, directed by LA filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang, premiered today on MOCAtv, a new online contemporary art video channel from The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA). The Guardian describes "Mutual Core" as “the world’s first song about tectonic plates set to a ravey mesh of bleeps and whooshes.” Watch the video here.

Björk has teamed up with the New York Public Library and the Children's Museum of Manhattan to launch an educational programming series based on her latest album, Biophilia, and its accompanying iPad apps. The program seeks to teach kids about the connections between technology, art, and natural phenomena. The NYPL program, aimed at middle school children, begins in July and will run through the fall. The Children's Museum of Manhattan will offer daily drop-in programming to school groups, summer camps, and families with children aged 3-11, beginning July 6 and running through December 30.

Congratulations to Björk, who received the Artist of the Year Award at the 16th Annual Webby Awards in a ceremony in New York City last night. The Webbys honor excellence on the Internet. Björk's latest album, Biophilia, was also released as a suite of Apps, with a dedicated App for each song on the album. She was introduced last night by Scott Snibbe, who led the team of Biophilia App developers. All Webby winners are kept to five-word acceptance speeches; you can watch Björk's in the video coverage here.

Björk has been named Artist of the Year by the Webby Awards, which honor excellence on the Internet. Her latest album, Biophilia, was also released as a suite of Apps, with a dedicated App for each song on the album. Björk is also featured in today's Guardian, in which she shares an eclectic list of things that have inspired her of late, which covers art, music, literature, climate conditions, geography, outdoor activities, even coconut water.

Björk closed out her month-long, ten-show Biophilia NYC residency last night at Roseland Ballroom. The residency also included shows at the New York Hall of Science, which collaborated with Björk on a Biophilia education series on the scientific concepts at the core of the album. One such concept is DNA, in the song "Hollow," the video for which has premiered on NPR's All Songs Considered. "It takes an artist like Björk to turn the complex process of DNA replication and transcription into something as simple and beautiful as a pop song," says NPR. "For the video of her song 'Hollow,' Björk has collaborated with biomedical animator Drew Berry to create a partly-scientific representation of the haunting song." Watch it here.

Björk played the last of her NY Hall of Science shows of her NYC Biophilia residency last weekend and plays the first of five nights at Roseland Ballroom tomorrow. NPR's All Songs Considered spoke with app developer Max Weisel, who plays the project's custom-made instruments onstage, including musical Tesla coils. Weisel gives Bob Boilen, host of All Songs Considered, a tour of the stage set-up and a demonstration of how it works. Watch it here. Björk returned to the New York Hall of Science in Queens last night for the latest performance in her month-long NYC Biophilia residency. Although she was unable to perform last Thursday's show due to health issues, she was back in fine form at last night's concert. In appreciation of her fans’ support, Björk is adding one final show at Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan on March 5. Individuals who purchased tickets for the February 9 show will be offered these tickets first in a pre-sale to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, February 14, at 10 AM. Tickets will be available to the public on Wednesday.

Björk launched her ten-show Biophilia residency in NYC with a performance Friday night at the New York Hall of Science in Queens. Five more shows at the unique venue are ahead, with four to follow at Roseland in Manhattan. Björk's "dazzling style" was on display on Friday's premiere, says NPR, which proved to be "a lesson in the scientific art of music, and how limitless it can be." Rolling Stone says of her voice: "Unearthly in its range and force, yet absolutely natural and frank in its ardor and hope, it is the vital human tissue connecting everything else." Fuse calls the show "jaw-dropping," explaining "it was evident that one of those special, unforgettable concert moments had just occurred."

In partnership with The Creators Project and the New York Hall of Science, Björk has brought her live Biophilia show to New York City for a ten-show residency, starting tonight and running into March. The first six performances take place at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, followed by four at Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan. Björk gave a small taste of what's to come over the next month's residency in her performance on The Colbert Report earlier this week.

Björk was the guest on last night's episode of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. She performed the song "Cosmogony" off her new album, Biophilia. For the performance, Björk was backed by members of an award-winning Icelandic women's choir, Alarm Will Sound percussionist Chris Thompson, and app developer Max Weisel, who will also perform on stage alongside Björk in the live shows.
