Congratulations to Molly Tuttle, who has won the International Bluegrass Music Association Award for Female Vocalist of the Year! Tuttle has just shared a new live performance video for the title track to Crooked Tree, the debut album with her band, Golden Highway. The video was filmed during their sold-out release show at Nashville’s legendary Station Inn this past spring, celebrating the acclaimed new album. Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway were on PBS’s The Caverns Sessions, performing songs from their debut album, Crooked Tree, released earlier this year on Nonesuch. The set was taped deep within the subterranean amphitheater of The Caverns in Tennessee's Cumberland Mountains. Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway have released a cover of Jefferson Airplane’s 1967 hit "White Rabbit," available only on Amazon Music. "I have loved the story of Alice In Wonderland since I read the book as a kid and played the Queen of Hearts in my school play,” Tuttle says. "Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane is from Palo Alto, CA, just like me, and this song gives me the nostalgic feeling of growing up, but recording it also pushed my band forward into new territory musically." Tuttle and the band can be seen on PBS's The Caverns Sessions this Saturday.

Congratulations to Molly Tuttle, who, already a four-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award–winner, is nominated in five categories for the 2022 IBMAs: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (Crooked Tree), Female Vocalist of the Year, Guitar Player of the Year, and Instrumental Group of the Year (Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway). Golden Highway's own Bronwyn Keith-Hynes is up for Fiddle Player of the Year. The ceremony will be held in Raleigh on September 29.

Molly Tuttle was on PBS NewsHour to discuss her Nonesuch debut album, Crooked Tree, with her band Golden Highway, and how she got to where she is today. "Few women get named to those greatest all-time guitar-player lists that come out now and then," says host Judy Woodruff. In celebration of Father’s Day, Molly Tuttle recorded a new performance video of her song, “Grass Valley,” featuring her father, Jack Tuttle, a music teacher and multi-instrumentalist, on mandolin and vocals. The song, from Tuttle's new album, Crooked Tree, recorded with her band Golden Highway, tells the story of going to Grass Valley, California’s annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival with her dad, where she was first exposed to the bluegrass music that inspired her to play. Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway’s new album, Crooked Tree, is now on vinyl, following its recent release on CD and digital. The album, recorded live in Nashville, was produced by Tuttle and Jerry Douglas and features collaborations with Sierra Hull, Old Crow Medicine Show, Margo Price, Billy Strings, Dan Tyminski, and Gillian Welch. The tracks, all written or co-written by Tuttle, explore her lifelong love of bluegrass. "Molly Tuttle's fingers move so quickly, she could pick your pocket without breaking stride," says the New York Times. NPR calls it "dashingly virtuosic." It "feels like the album Molly Tuttle was destined to make," says Uncut.
