Composer William Brittelle’s album Spiritual America is due May 3 on New Amsterdam / Nonesuch Records. Indie rock duo Wye Oak, Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and the Metropolis Ensemble perform a genre-defying electro-acoustic song cycle written by Brittelle, plus a Wye Oak piece re-imagined by Brittelle. On the album, Brittelle works to reconcile his youth in a conservative Christian household with his adult life as an "agnostic Buddhist." The project began when he endured a family crisis and instinctively found himself praying to God. Rhiannon Giddens's latest album, there is no Other, made with multi-instrumentalist Francesco Turrisi, is due May 3 on Nonesuch. Produced by Joe Henry and recorded over five days in Dublin, there is no Other is at once a condemnation of "othering" and a celebration of the spread of ideas, connectivity, and shared experience. David Byrne's Nonesuch Records debut album, Grown Backwards, first released on March 16, 2004, makes its vinyl debut today, one day before the album's 15th anniversary. The double-vinyl edition is the original album plus six additional tracks, including a duet with Caetano Veloso on their song "Dreamworld." The bonus tracks are also available digitally in a deluxe edition of the album. It's "one of Byrne's most rewarding experiments yet," said the Guardian. "It fits alongside the best of his career," says Pitchfork.

Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record stores, is Saturday, April 13, 2019, and included among the special releases on that day is Emmylou Harris's The Studio Albums, 1980–83, a new vinyl collection featuring five classic titles—Roses in the Snow, Evangeline, Cimarron, Last Date, and White Shoes—plus a bonus 45 RPM of "That Lovin' Feeling Again” with Roy Orbison b/w "Mr. Sandman." The collection will receive a limited release of 1,100.

New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records release Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Caroline Shaw’s Orange, performed by Attacca Quartet, on April 19, 2019. Orange, which features six of Shaw’s pieces for string quartet, is the first full-length album to exclusively feature her works and is the first release in a new partnership between the two record labels. The string quartet form "has existed for hundreds of years, but there's something, for me, beautiful and ritualistic about coming back to that form," says Shaw. "This album is a celebration of the simple, immediate, unadorned beauty of a natural, everyday, familiar thing." Mountain Man has released its take on two John Denver tunes: "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and "Around and Around." Jeremy Denk's new album, c.1300–c.2000, is out now. Joshua Redman Quartet’s new album, Come What May, is due March 29 on Nonesuch Records. This is the first recording in almost two decades for this group of musicians—the recently Grammy-nominated saxophonist and his longtime friends and colleagues pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson—and features seven Redman tunes. The Quartet tours internationally throughout this year. Jonny Greenwood's acclaimed score to Paul Thomas Anderson's Academy Award–winning film There Will Be Blood, first released on Nonesuch in 2007, is now available on vinyl worldwide for the first time. British rising country soul star Yola's debut solo album, Walk Through Fire, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, will be released February 22, 2019, on Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound label, distributed by Nonesuch Records.
