Conor Oberst was in Sydney, Australia, in February to give an intimate solo performance at the Sydney Opera House, which The Music described as "simply mesmerising." He opened the set with his song "Tachycardia," from his new albums, Ruminations and Salutations. Oberst also performed the song for the Sydney Opera House's Nooks & Crannies video series, which showcases unseen spaces inside the iconic venue. For the video, which you can watch here, Oberst is at the piano, joined by Miwi La Lupa on bass, to perform "Tachycardia" in the Opera House scenery dock.

He was also reunited with a Syrian family he had first met in a refugee camp in their new home in Germany. Journal Topics: Artist NewsFriday,April 7,2017Bach Trios, an album of Bach works recorded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, and bassist Edgar Meyer, is out now on CD and digitally, with the two-LP vinyl edition due April 21. The album comprises works by J.S. Bach originally written for keyboard instruments, plus one sonata for viola da gamba. In 2011, Ma, Thile, and Meyer—along with Stuart Duncan—collaborated on The Goat Rodeo Sessions, which won two Grammy Awards. The Times of London calls Bach Trios "effervescent" and "irresistible." The trio performs in nine cities across the US beginning April 21.

Seattle Rep's Bagley Wright Theatre transforms into a vibrant dance party, where techno beats spin and tell the story of former Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos, retracing her meteoric rise to power and subsequent descent into infamy and disgrace at the end of the People Power Revolution. Nonesuch released the original cast album in 2014 and an all-star album of songs from Here Lies Love in 2010.
Journal Topics: Artist NewsOn TourThursday,April 6,2017When Nonesuch Records celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014, with festivals at the Barbican in London and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Kronos Quartet joined forces with labelmates Sam Amidon, Olivia Chaney, Rhiannon Giddens, and Natalie Merchant to perform a concert entitled Folk Songs. The group later recorded the songs, most of which are traditional with contemporary arrangements, with Doug Petty as producer. Folk Songs will be released June 9, 2017, and is available to pre-order with an instant download of the track "The Butcher's Boy," featuring Merchant.

The song is one of fifty on the five-disc set that chronicles the fifty years of songwriter Stephin Merritt's life with one song per year. You can watch the video here. The video was directed by Alex Basco Koch and José Zayas, produced at Ghost Corporeal. It was originally created for the Magnetic Fields' 50 Song Memoir concert tour directed by Zayas.

These dates are in addition to the previously announced selection of intimate theater shows in the Pacific Northwest, performances at legendary amphitheatres such as Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and routing through Australia and Europe. Fleet Foxes have also released a short trailer for their forthcoming album, Crack-Up, featuring footage shot during recent Seattle rehearsals paired with snippets from select album tracks.
