    Composer, pianist, and singer Gabriel Kahane makes his Nonesuch debut with the release of Book of Travelers on August 24, 2018; vinyl September 7. The album comprises his ten-song musical travelogue about the looping railway journey across the US he embarked upon the day after the 2016 Presidential election. He left behind his cell phone and other internet-connected devices, spending two weeks with dozens of strangers whose stories are woven into the cycle. Pre-order to download the track "November" now and get a limited-edition signed print. Kahane tours this fall and winter.

    Robert Plant, currently touring North America with his band the Sensational Space Shifters, was a guest on House of Strombo while in Toronto for the tour. The show welcomes 100 fans to the home of host George Stroumboulopoulos for an intimate conversation. Plant talks about his latest album, Carry Fire, performing Led Zeppelin songs on tour, watching the World Cup, and life on the road. "You've got to subscribe to nonsense," he says.     Olivia Chaney's new album, Shelter, is out now on Nonesuch. Produced by Thomas Bartlett, the album is eight original songs plus Chaney's takes on songs by Purcell and the Everly Brothers. She has also released a video for the track "House on a Hill," filmed at the rustic, 18th-century cottage in the hills of the North Yorkshire Moors where she wrote the record. Watch it here. The Observer cites Chaney's "dazzling vocals" and calls Shelter "an elegant, luminous album." Uncut calls it "transcendent refuge from the storm." The Daily Mirror says it's "a triumph." Chaney performs in London on June 19; tickets are on sale now for her North American summer tour.

    Punch Brothers' first self-produced album, All Ashore, is due July 20, 2018, from Nonesuch, with the vinyl on September 7. The record includes nine original songs written by the band. "It's a meditation on committed relationships in the present day, particularly in the present political climate," says Chris Thile. Pre-order in the Nonesuch Store to download two songs now and get an exclusive print signed by the band. Watch a video for "It's All Part of the Plan," filmed in Nashville, here. Punch Brothers play the Telluride Bluegrass Festival on June 24 before embarking on a US tour.

    Lake Street Dive, which begins the summer leg of its North American tour with shows in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia next week, has shared a live performance video of "Baby Don't Leave Me Alone with My Thoughts," the opening track on their new album, Free Yourself Up. The video was filmed by Alex Chaloff at Goosehead Palace Studios in Nashville, where the band recorded the album. Watch it here.

    Rostam, in London for back-to-back shows, stopped by BBC Radio 6 Music this morning to perform songs from his debut album, Half-Light, on Lauren Laverne's show and talk with her about the album and tour. "One of my favorite records of 2017," says Laverne of Half-Light, "absolutely phenomenal debut album." Hear it here. Rostam closes out his European spring tour in Dublin as special guest of The National on Saturday. He performs at the Newport Folk Festival with Hamilton Leithauser in July.

    Olivia Chaney has announced a three-week tour of the US and Canada, starting in Decatur, Georgia, on July 24. The tour, featuring music from her new album, Shelter, includes headline shows in DC, Cambridge, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Burlington, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Portland, and San Francisco, plus sets as special guest of Patty Griffin on Long Island and Bruce Hornsby in Washington. Chaney gave an album release concert in NYC on Sunday and will do so in London at Hoxton Hall on June 19.

The tour begins in Atlanta tonight and continues through the end of the month, with shows in New York, Toronto, Chicago, Berkeley, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, and more.

    k.d. lang has been named the recipient of the Americana Music Association's 2018 Americana Trailblazer Award. The honor will be presented at the Americana Honors & Awards, at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 12. She will also headline the Ryman on September 16 on the just-announced nine-city fall leg of her "Ingénue Redux" Tour, which includes shows in Florida, Alabama, and Texas.

    Mandy Patinkin was a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night, along with actress Lucy Liu and musician Shawn Mendes, who is a special guest / co-host on the show all week. Patinkin gave Mendes some love advice based on his own marriage of forty years and gave the audience of taste of what Mendes's song "Stitches" sounds like in Yiddish.     Devendra Banhart begins a seven-city tour of Asia with a performance at the Guro Arts Valley Theatre in Seoul tonight. The tour, a series of duo performances with his longtime collaborator Noah Georgeson, continues with concerts in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, and Kyoto.
