    Radio Rewrite, Steve Reich’s new ensemble work, which draws inspiration from songs by Radiohead, will be premiered at the Royal Festival Hall in London tonight, travelling with the London Sinfonietta to Birmingham, Brighton, and Glasgow this week. The all-Reich program opens with the composer in Clapping Music, and also includes Electric Counterpoint, 2x5, and Double Sextet. Tonight's concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3's Live in Concert. Alarm Will Sound gives the first US performances of Radio Rewrite at Stanford Live and Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis later this month.

    Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell were featured on NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday, talking about and performing from their new album, Old Yellow Moon, and later that day on A Prairie Home Companion. They also performed on Wall Street Journal's WSJ Café, which you can watch here. Old Yellow Moon is out today in the UK, where it has received critical acclaim, earning four stars nearly across the board, from Mojo to the Evening Standard; the duo were featured on BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris and BBC Radio Scotland's Another Country.

    Nataly Dawn makes her Nonesuch debut with today's release of her solo album How I Knew Her. She has also unveiled a video for the title track, which you can watch here. The album comprises 12 autobiographical, introspective songs by Dawn, one half of Pomplamoose, and was produced by her longtime partner Jack Conte. "While she retains a lot of the whimsy and charm of Pomplamoose," says NPR's All Things Considered, "the music here reveals a whole different side of Nataly Dawn that Pomplamoose fans might not have known was there ... It's funny, and it's challenging. It's poignant, spiritual." Listen to her recent performance on Portland's KINK FM here.

    Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell's forthcoming album, Old Yellow Moon, has made NPR's Heavy Rotation: 5 Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing. "Their new album of duets, Old Yellow Moon, sounds classic in every sense of musical accomplishment: from their gorgeous singing and inspiring studio performances to their excellent choice of material," says NPR station XPN2. "It hearkens back to classic recordings like Harris' Elite Hotel and Crowell's Diamonds and Dirt, and brings the best out of the two veterans." Harris and Crowell are currently in the UK, with appearances on BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends, and BBC Radio 2's Simon Mayo show.

    Lianne La Havas, who rang in the New Year performing on Jools Holland's Hootennany on BBC Two (watch her performance of "Age" from the show here), is set to return to North America for an 18-city headlining tour starting March 17, following shows this month and next in Australia, the UK, and Ireland. Last week, La Havas was featured on NPR's daily talk show Tell Me More to discuss her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?. "It's a great album," says NPR's Celeste Headlee. "And I recommend people go pick it up."

    Patrick Carney, drummer of The Black Keys, will host Serious Boredom, an exclusive show on SiriusXMU, channel 35, featuring Carney talking about and playing his favorite independent music, new and old, as well as music from his personal collection. The show premieres this Thursday, December 20, at 8 PM ET. New episodes will debut on the first Thursday of every month beginning in January 2013. "I'm excited about the show and the opportunity to host SiriusXMU’s Serious Boredom," says Carney. "I've wanted to do a DJ gig like this for a while now and am looking forward to being on air."

    Following the news that Randy Newman will be among the 2013 Inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Newman was featured on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross. The show opens with his solo piano-and-vocal recording of his classic tune "Political Science" from his 2003 Nonesuch debut album, Randy Newman Songbook Vol. 1, and includes two past Fresh Air interviews. Newman, who has described the induction into the Hall of Fame as "a great honor," recently spoke with both Rolling Stone and Billboard magazines about that honor.

    Lianne La Havas brings her brief US tour to a close this weekend with sold-out shows at the Roxy in LA and Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. La Havas stops by KCRW in LA today for an appearance on Morning Becomes Eclectic, which calls her "a stunning newcomer with a soulful voice and incredible depth and range." The Los Angeles Times says her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, is "brimming with understated production, poetic lyrics and La Havas’ guitar-driven blend of soul, folk and jazz."     Shawn Colvin joins BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris in session, recorded during her recent UK tour with Mary Chapin Carpenter, for the latest episode of his program, airing this evening at 7 PM GMT. Colvin performs songs from her latest album, All Fall Down, and talks with Harris about recording the new album in producer Buddy Miller's home studio; writing her memoir, Diamond in the Rough; and much more. Colvin concludes her tour as special guest of the band Heart this weekend before returning to the road with her own US headline shows.

    Lianne La Havas—pictured in the Tom Ford gown she wore as a nominee at last week's Mercury Prize ceremony—is the subject of a feature profile on NPR's Morning Edition, which examines her banner year including, not least, the release of her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?. As host Renee Montagne says in her introduction to the piece, titled "The Golden Girl of British Music," it "helps if you’re as talented as the young singer-songwriter we’re about to hear from." La Havas makes her debut on the Late Show with David Letterman this Thursday and plays three US shows next week.

La Havas talks with WFUV's Alisa Ali about her life in music and to perform three songs off the album. Watch the performances and listen to the complete episode here. Lianne La Havas is up for the Mercury Prize this week and returns to the US next week to perform on the Late Show with David Letterman and Conan and in headline shows in the Washington, DC–area, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
