The Barbican joins the Theatre Royal Stratford East in presenting a two-week run of performances of John Adams's 1995 music theatre piece I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky at the Theatre Royal, opening tonight. The BBC previews the production, saying: "John Adams is arguably America's unofficial national composer." The London Philharmonic performs his Doctor Atomic Symphony at London's Royal Festival Hall.

Tonight, the band will perform the album track "Rye Whiskey" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The band was at Bonnaroo last Friday, photos from which are now on nonesuch.com/media. Paste says: "On Antifogmatic, the guys sound more sure of themselves, more polished, more self-aware. The warm harmonies and crisp mandolin plucks and fiddle strains ... ring with the resounding clarity the album’s title suggests."

It is "an undisputed fact of science that Allen," insists Time Out, "ranks among the globe’s funkiest residents."

After last week's show in Austin, the American-Statesman describes it as "a musical happening of the highest order—a jaw-dropping confluence of jazz, technology and visual art."
