    With just about two weeks to go before the release of Robert Plant's new album, lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar, on September 9, Plant and his band the Sensational Space Shifters take fans through the new album in a new short film, which you can watch below. Band member Justin Adams discusses the band's unanimity and creative freedom, while Skin Tyson talks about "creating space at the right time, for each other," and Johnny Baggot discusses his psychedelic looping samples.

    Nonesuch Records President Bob Hurwitz and Senior Vice President David Bither recently sat down with the folks at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in Brooklyn, New York, to discuss the history of Nonesuch Records, the family of artists, and the longstanding relationship between those artists and BAM for an online exclusive video. This comes in advance of BAM's forthcoming celebration of the 50th anniversary of the label: Nonesuch Records at BAM: Celebrating a Label Without Labels, a wide-ranging series of concerts and events, September 9–28, 2014.     Conor Oberst was the musical guest on Late Show with David Letterman last night, joined by LA band Dawes and more to perform "Hundreds of Ways," off his new album, Upside Down Mountain. You can watch it here. Oberst, backed by Dawes as special guests, is currently touring the globe, including a performance at SummerStage in New York City's Central Park tonight.

    Robert Plant has teamed up with Genero TV to give fans the unique opportunity to produce the music video for "Rainbow," the lead track off his forthcoming album, lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar. The competition gives filmmakers a chance to receive $3,000 and have their video used as the music video for "Rainbow." Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters will be appearing for the first time at the iTunes Festival at London's Roundhouse on September 8.

    Conor Oberst has released the second video from his critically acclaimed new album, Upside Down Mountain. The video, for the fan-favorite “You Are Your Mother’s Child,” which premiered on Rolling Stone, was filmed on New York’s Fire Island and directed by Greg Marinaccio. Conor Oberst, backed by LA band Dawes, is currently touring the globe. He’ll be making a stop in NYC this month for performances on Late Show with David Letterman on July 28 and Central Park’s SummerStage on July 29.

    In a new video, Robert Plant previews his new album, lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, due September 9. In the video, Plant leads viewers through the personal journey that led to the new album, from the Welsh borders, through the American South, and back home to the UK. "These songs are an ode to life and love," says Plant, "and the fragile adventure you set out upon unknowingly and unwittingly."     Randy Newman's debut performance on Austin City Limits will receive an encore broadcast when the show airs the 2011 episode on PBS this weekend. "With songs that run the gamut from heartbreaking to satirical and a host of unforgettable film scores," says the show, "Randy Newman has used his many talents to create musical masterpieces widely recognized by generations of audiences." The show first aired in November 2011, the same week his latest album, Live in London, was released on Nonesuch Records.     The soundtrack to Richard Linklater's Boyhood is out this week on Nonesuch Records. The soundtrack spans the 12 years over which the groundbreaking film was shot, with songs ranging from the year 2000 to 2013, plus the Paul McCartney and Wings classic “Band on the Run” and the debut of "Summer Noon," a new song written by Jeff Tweedy and performed by his father/son duo, Tweedy. The video for the song, animated by Allison House, premiered this week. You can watch it here.

    Robert Plant and his band the Sensational Space Shifters gave the Glastonbury Festival crowd "one of the most musically diverse sets of the day," says the BBC, including songs from his new album, lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar. They "concoct a fascinating hybrid of dub, jazz, afrobeat and blues well suited to such an eclectic festival," says the Telegraph, "and an appreciative audience swayed in the setting sun to blissful world groove ... Plant's still got the vocal chops and stadium charisma." The Guardian calls him "hero." Metro says "Plant still very much has the voice and all of the cool."     The Black Keys, who are currently touring Europe on the first leg of the Turn Blue world tour, have added several new dates to the tour in February 2015, in Zurich, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Düsseldorf. The Guardian gives four stars to the band's set at Glastonbury last night, saying "the Black Keys have got better as they've got bigger, revealing a talent for fiendishly catchy classic rock." Watch their Glastonbury performance of "Fever" here.

    Ruthie Ann Miles, who plays Imelda Marcos in David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's musical Here Lies Love, and her co-star Conrad Ricamora, who plays Ninoy Aquino, were joined by a few of their fellow cast members to perform "I Am a Child of the Philippines" on Fox 5's Good Day NY this morning. Miles and Ricamora also spoke a bit about the musical, which is now playing at the Public Theater in New York City. You can watch the segment here.

    Nickel Creek has unveiled a new video for "Hayloft," its cover of the Mother Mother song, off its Nonesuch Records debut album, A Dotted Line. The video, directed by Steven Mertens, premiered on The A.V. Club, which says: "The album, A Dotted Line, captured everything great about the acoustic trio without missing a beat. One song stuck out, though," and that's "Hayloft." Watch it here. NPR's Heavy Rotation has named another album track, "Destination," among its 10 Favorite Songs of the Year (So Far).
