Wilco will stream a live webcast from its sold-out show at Overture Hall in Madison, Wisconsin, Saturday night at 8:30 PM CST. The band is in Duluth, Minnesota, tonight, and East Lansing, Michigan, on Sunday. The Lansing State Journal says, "Fifteen years and seven albums since getting together, Wilco's music still sounds edgy and alive." The documentary Ashes of American Flags is showing at the Screenland Armour in Kansas City, Missouri.

Last night, k.d. lang made Olympic magic when she performed the classic Leonard Cohen tune "Hallelujah" at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. The Vancouver Sun said k.d. "reminded the world that she is one of the best in the business, with a stirring, spiritual rendition of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' that literally hushed the crowd." Today is release day for Recollection, the first-ever career retrospective from k.d. lang. Q2, the new 24/7 music stream from New York public radio's WQXR dedicated to contemporary classical music, kicks off its first full festival, Maximum Reich: A Celebration of Steve Reich, today. This weeklong immersion into Reich's work will include a presentation of his recorded works, explorations of the influences both on and of Reich, recent videos and exclusive downloads, and interviews and music recordings from the archives of WNYC, the new owner of WQXR.

Bill Frisell performed with his Trio—Kenny Wollesen on drums and Tony Scherr on bass—at the Kennedy Center last month. You can hear the concert online from NPR's JazzSet. In her introduction, host DeeDee Bridgewater describes Frisell as "a superman of contemporary improvisational music and one of the most compelling artists on the scene today."

Wilco's European tour comes to a close this week with two shows in the Netherlands. Tonight's concert at the Paradiso in Amsterdam will be webcast live on the band's site. There are already more live performances planned for next year, including a gala benefit honoring Neil Young as MusiCares Person of the Year during Grammy week, a Canadian tour, and, now, the End of the Road Festival in England, which the band will headline next September.

Wilco's European tour concludes in the Netherlands next week, where the band will webcast Monday night's show in Amsterdam live. The group's much-anticipated contribution (with Feist and Jamie Lidell) to Beck's Record Club is now available: "Little Hands" from the 1969 Skip Spence album Oar. Also on the covers front, Peter Gabriel's forthcoming covers album will include songs by The Magnetic Fields and Randy Newman.

Punch Brothers recently announced via Twitter that they've "just put the finishing touches on the 18th of 18 songs that we've earmarked for our new record." Even with that to look forward to, the band also has two New York performances of A Prairie Home Companion coming in early December. Until then, Paste has published a video interview with the Punch Brothers from the CMJ music conference in which the guys give some insight into their instruments.

John Adams's new blog, Hell Mouth, has been given a "cheers" in The Guardian, which describes the blog as both "hilarious" and "brilliant." The St. Lawrence String Quartet continues its world tour with the String Quartet Adams wrote for the group in 2008, in concerts in Des Moines and Ann Arbor this weekend. The Detroit Free Press says "the appearance of a new Adams string quartet is big news."

The Low Anthem continues its cross-country tour with Blind Pilot at The Parish in Austin, Texas, tonight, as news is in that Q magazine has named Oh My God, Charlie Darwin one of the year's Top 50 albums. The Dallas Observer says the album, "quite simply, is a remarkably beautiful record, an album deserving of all the critical kudos." Magnet magazine is offering the band's take on Bob Dylan's "Dignity" as a free download.
