Chris Thile launches a week-long US tour with banjoist Béla Fleck at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha Tuesday. The tour continues with a stop at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan; two in upstate New York, at Smith Opera House in Geneva and Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival; and two concerts in California, at the Fox Theater in Oakland and the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.

Emmylou Harris kicks off a nine-city co-headlining tour with Lyle Lovett & His Large Band with two concerts in California this weekend: at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Friday and the Greek Theatre in LA on Saturday. The tour continues through the middle of August, with shows in Park City, Denver, Ravinia, Cincinnati, and upstate New York, culminating with two shows in Virginia, at the Sprint Pavilion in Charlottesville and at Wolf Trap outside DC. Harris also leads three of her own shows between dates with Lovett during that time, stopping in Wisconsin, Montana, and Idaho.

Steve Reich will work with filmmaker Bill Morrison to create a film accompaniment to the composer's piece Different Trains, for the first time in the work's history. The commission, presented by Metal, will feature archival film stock of train travel during WWII gathered from archives in continental Europe and the US. Reich, Sound Intermedia, and the London Contemporary Orchestra will collaborate to perform this presentation in an open-air concert at Liverpool's Edge Hill Station—the departure point for the first-ever intercity passenger train travel, in 1830—on September 29, 2016. Lake Street Dive stopped by the Bose studios to give a Bose Better Sound Sessions set, performing two songs from its Nonesuch Records debut album, Side Pony—"Godawful Things" and "Mistakes"—and sharing what music means to them. You can watch the session here. The band resumes its US tour in August and is on the road through November, when it heads to the UK and Ireland.

Allen Toussaint's final recording, American Tunes, released to critical acclaim earlier this month, continues to earn rave reviews. Paste calls it "a beautiful colleciton of tracks that showcase his love of music no matter the genre." The Staves are the guests on this week's episode of Acoustic Café, discussing and performing from their new EP, Sleeping In A Car, and their 2015 Nonesuch debut album, If I Was. The trio performs the title track and "Roses" from the new EP, and "Sadness Don't Own Me" and "Damn It All" from If I Was. The Staves, who just completed a headlining tour of North America, will perform at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, Newport Folk Festival, and Justin Vernon's Eaux Claires Festival this summer.

Nonesuch releases Portuguese singer Mariza's newest album, Mundo, in the US on September 9, 2016. Mundo earned her the Songlines Best Artist of the Year award following its international release in 2015. The album, his ninth, was written, produced, arranged, and recorded in Los Angeles by Banhart with his longtime collaborators Noah Georgeson and Josiah Steinbrick, both of whom also worked on his most recent album, Mala.
