Conor Oberst was musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC last night, joined by Dawes to perform "Zigzagging Toward the Light," off his just-released album, Upside Down Mountain. He recently stopped by Last.fm to talk about and perform "Hundreds of Ways" and "Double Life" off the new album. Conor Oberst's new album, Upside Down Mountain, due out next Monday, May 19 (with vinyl due to arrive May 30), is streaming in full all this week as an NPR First Listen. The album is "artful and beautifully realized," writes NPR's Tom Moon. "Upside Down Mountain suggests that Oberst is growing, rapidly, as a craftsman ... [H]e's brokering interior thoughts, choosing clusters of words for the ways they thrive, or sometimes disappear, inside the sonic swirl." Oberst is on tour now with special guest Dawes.

Conor Oberst has announced several additional tour dates for this fall, including concerts in Boulder, Austin, Dallas, Seattle, Portland, and more. He will also co-headline the Greek Theatre in LA with John Prine on October 5. Oberst will perform on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 19, the release date for his new album, Upside Down Mountain, and CBS This Morning: Saturday on May 24. He will perform at Rough Trade NYC in Brooklyn on May 20.

For the occasion, Conor Oberst releases a limited-edition 7" single including "Hundreds of Ways," off his forthcoming Nonesuch debut album, Upside Down Mountain, along with album outtake "Fast Friends" on the B-side.

Conor Oberst performed seven songs from his forthcoming album, Upside Down Mountain, live at the Greene Space in NYC last Wednesday night as part of Gigstock, a mini festival from WNYC's Soundcheck. Conor Oberst visited the BBC studios yesterday to discuss his forthcoming album, Upside Down Mountain, on BBC Radio 6Music's Lauren Laverne program in the morning, also performing "You Are Your Mother's Child" and "Hundreds of Ways" off the new album, and the Jo Whiley show on BBC Radio 2 at night, offering another take on "Hundreds of Ways" and the beloved Bright Eyes song " First Day of My Life," one of Whiley's favorite tunes.
