Sonos launches Sonos Radio, a free, ad-supported streaming radio service, available to Sonos customers today. The new service brings together more than 60,000 stations from multiple streaming partners alongside original programming from Sonos. In addition to genre-based stations, the service includes ad-free artist stations, including one coming soon from David Byrne, and Sonos Sound System, an ad-free station hosted by the Sonos team with guest-hosted radio hours from artists including Vagabon and Jeff Parker to come.

David Byrne will deliver the address at the 160th Commencement ceremony of Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, on Saturday, May 23, 2020. He will also receive an honorary doctorate degree at the ceremony, along with Laurie Anderson and others.

David Byrne was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on NBC this weekend, with host John Mulaney. Byrne performed Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime" and his 2008 tune with Fatboy Slim, "Toe Jam," two songs featured in David Byrne's American Utopia on Broadway, with musicians from that production. The celebrated production of David Byrne’s American Utopia will return to Broadway’s Hudson Theatre in September 2020. The current run ends today; tickets for the return engagement are on sale now. “It’s become obvious to us in the band, the crew and the producer team that audiences want—dare I say need?—to see this show," Byrne says. "They’re not ready to have it disappear just yet. We feel the same way, we love doing this show. So, it’s thrilling to us that we can announce that we’ll be back in September.” He will perform with the American Utopia Broadway musicians on Saturday Night Live on February 29.

Byrne will perform songs from his American Utopia on Broadway, making for a very Happy Leap Day indeed. Academy Award–winning director Spike Lee will direct a filmed version of the acclaimed Broadway show David Byrne’s American Utopia, due later this year. Participant will be the lead financier and executive producer for the project, which River Road Entertainment and Warner Music Group will also co-finance. “Pinch me. This couldn't have worked out better for this project,” Byrne said. “Spike Lee directing and Participant producing—two socially engaged teams, well, three if you count us in the band, coming together in what I feel will be something moving, important, and unlike anything anyone has seen before.”

The cast album for the critically acclaimed Broadway production of David Byrne’s American Utopia, with music and lyrics by David Byrne, is now available in a double-vinyl edition, following its digital and CD release late last year. The song is featured in the critically acclaimed production and on the original cast album.
