The SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco has announced its 2019–20 concert season, and among the performers taking the Miner Auditorium stage are several Nonesuch artists: Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, Rhiannon Giddens, Kronos Quartet, and Laurie Anderson, who is an SFJAZZ Resident Artist Director for the season.

Joshua Redman Quartet’s new album, Come What May, is out now on Nonesuch Records. This is the first recording in almost two decades for this group of musicians: the saxophonist and his longtime friends and colleagues pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson. "Nothing beats the cool confidence of a band who have spent years on the road,” says the four-star Times review. “It also helps that the seven Redman tunes here are so good ... Four men playing as one." The Quartet tours throughout this spring and summer.

Joshua Redman and Brad Mehldau were featured in this year's edition of NPR Music's Toast of the Nation, an annual New Year's Eve show of jazz performances. "These guys are great friends and have been playing together since the early '90s," says host Christian McBride. "A few years back, they decided to join forces once more to record a live album called Nearness. You can hear how well they connect musically." Jazzwise magazine has published its list of the Top 20 Jazz Albums of 2018, including three Nonesuch releases: Brad Mehldau Trio's Seymour Reads The Constitution!; Joshua Redman's collaboration with Ron Miles, Scott Colley, and Brian Blade, Still Dreaming; and Brad Mehldau's solo album After Bach.

Joshua Redman, Brian Blade, Scott Colley, and Ron Miles tour select North American cities with songs from their new album, Still Dreaming, starting at Koerner Hall in Toronto on Saturday. The brief tour then heads west for concerts in Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. The group will be in the UK and Europe in February.

Joshua Redman, Brian Blade, Scott Colley, and Ron Miles, whose new album, Still Dreaming, was released in May, performed at Jazz in Marciac last year. They have now shared a video from that performance of the non-album track "Walls-Bridges"; you can watch it here. The band will tour North America this year with shows in Cleveland, Minneapolis, Iowa City, Newport, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver, and more to come. Another group of which Redman is a part, James Farm, will tour Europe in October.
