Mountain Man resumes its first US tour in six years in Texas this week, with sets at South x San José in Austin today and Willie Nelson's Luck Reunion on Thursday, and a headline concert at the Heights Theater in Houston on Saturday. The trio takes music from its new album, Magic Ship, to venues across the country this spring and festivals including Big Ears next week and Newport Folk and Pickathon this summer. 

Mountain Man, which resumes its first US tour in six years next week, has shared a video featuring a performance of the songs "Window" and "Moon"—both from the trio's Nonesuch debut album, Magic Ship—from a sold-out hometown show at the Haw River Ballroom in North Carolina from late last year. Mountain Man has released its take on two John Denver tunes: "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and "Around and Around." "We love John Denver so much we gave Alex his haircut, and recorded a few of his legendary tunes too," says the trio. "Have a listen! They are so sooooothing, we promise." Mountain Man Sings John Denver is available to download now and can be heard here; a 7" vinyl is due June 7 and may be pre-ordered now. The group tours the US starting in March.

Mountain Man stopped by NPR to perform a Tiny Desk Concert of songs from its Nonesuch debut album, Magic Ship. You can watch it here. "Mountain Man is the perfect band for a Tiny Desk concert," says host Bob Boilen. "These three women make the most intimate music; and behind the desk, [their] voices were the stars." He goes on to say that "there's a true kinship that happens in this trio ... There's no other band like them." Mountain Man resumes its US tour in March and has just announced several new dates in May and June.

Mountain Man will resume its first US tour in six years with performances throughout next month and into the summer. The line-up for the 2019 Big Ears Festival has been announced, including several Nonesuch artists: Rhiannon Giddens, Punch Brothers, Gabriel Kahane, and Mountain Man. Big Ears will be held at venues throughout downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, March 21–24, 2019. Weekend passes are on sale now.

Mountain Man, now touring the US, is on NPR's World Cafe. The trio talks with host Talia Schlanger about its new album, Magic Ship, and performs four songs from it. "Something truly magical happens when Amelia Meath, Molly Erin Sarlé, and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig are in the same room, huddled around the same mic, breathing and harmonizing together," says Schlanger. "I feel like there was a big collective exclamation of glee when we found out that Mountain Man was making a new album called Magic Ship." Hear the session here.

Mountain Man stopped by WNYC Studios as the guest on New Sounds' Soundcheck. The trio spoke with host John Schaefer about Magic Ship and performed three songs from the new album: "AGT," "Underwear," and "Boat." "Their music features a timeless sound," says Schaefer. The acclaimed trio Mountain Man's first album in eight years, Magic Ship, is out now. The record includes eleven originals plus interpretations of songs by Ted Lucas and Michael Hurley, and a traditional hymn—"intimate, close-harmony songs that tap into an ageless essence of traditional ballads and lullabies as they contemplate companionship, family, love and death," says the New York Times. The new album distills eight years of experience since their 2010 debut album, Made the Harbor, of sights seen, pleasures had, feelings hurt, forgiveness extended.
