The soundtrack to Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film, Phantom Thread, featuring Jonny Greenwood's Academy Award–nominated score, is now available on vinyl, following its CD and digital release earlier this year. The special vinyl edition includes the album on two 140-gram LPs and a 24-page booklet of Greenwood's score. Fleet Foxes release a new, limited-edition black vinyl 7" single at independent record stores for Record Store Day on Saturday: a special recording of the title track to their 2017 album, Crack-Up, performed with Icelandic women’s choir Graduale Nobili, in Reykjavik (watch a video here), b/w an intimate version of "In the Morning" recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Fleet Foxes' perform at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley tonight and return to Coachella on Saturday.

Olivia Chaney follows her 2015 Nonesuch debut, The Longest River, with Shelter, due June 15, 2018, on Nonesuch. The album, produced by Thomas Bartlett, is eight original songs plus Chaney's takes on Purcell's "O Solitude" and Frank Harford & Tex Ritter's "Long Time Gone," first recorded by the Everly Brothers. Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) and Nico Muhly release a new album, Peter Pears: Balinese Ceremonial Music, May 18 on Nonesuch. It's nine songs written by the duo plus three gamelan transcriptions by ethnomusicologist Colin McPhee that inspired the songs. Peter Pears is available to preorder with instant downloads of the tracks "Dominic," "Gambangan," and "Festina," videos for which can be seen here. Bartlett and Muhly perform the music in NYC, Dublin, and London this spring.

Steve Reich's Pulse / Quartet, released on CD and digitally in February, is now available on vinyl as well. Pulse is performed by International Contemporary Ensemble, and Quartet by Colin Currie Group. The Los Angeles Times notes the "lyricism, gorgeous instrumental textures and affecting harmonies" of Pulse, and the New York Times says: "Written for two vibraphones and two pianos, Quartet is Mr. Reich's first piece for those two instruments alone, and the combination is ingenious and seductive, and deployed with subtle craftsmanship."

Brad Mehldau Trio's Seymour Reads the Constitution! is due May 18, 2018, on Nonesuch. The pianist and his longtime trio perform three Mehldau originals plus interpretations of pop songs (Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson), jazz tunes (Elmo Hope, Sam Rivers), and one work from the American songbook (Frederick Loewe's "Almost Like Being in Love"). Congratulations to David Byrne, whose album American Utopia debuted at No. 1 on the Top Album Chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200, the highest of his career. The album also topped both the Rock and Alternative Album Charts. American Utopia has also debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian Album and Alternative charts, another career high. There are more career chart highs across Europe, where the album premiered in the Top 20 in the UK and Ireland, and Top 40 in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and Netherlands.

Joshua Redman is joined by drummer Brian Blade, bassist Scott Colley, and trumpeter Ron Miles for Still Dreaming—an album inspired by his father Dewey Redman's 1976–1987 band, Old and New Dreams—due May 25. That band featured an all-star lineup of Ornette Coleman collaborators: Don Cherry, Charlie Haden, and Ed Blackwell. Still Dreaming features six new compositions by the new band plus one tune by Haden and one by Coleman. The album is available to preorder with an instant download of the album track "Unanimity."

David Byrne's new solo record, American Utopia, is out now. "American Utopia is an album full of pulsating beats and rich textures," says Stereogum. UPROXX says: "Byrne has put together an album that not only sounds fresh, but concerns itself with the world as it exists in this moment, right now." Brad Mehldau's new album, After Bach is out now. The album comprises the pianist/composer's recordings of selections from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, each followed by an After Bach piece written by Mehldau and inspired by its WTC mate. After Bach is the Guardian's Contemporary Album of the Month.
